Just a quick question - Since Apple keeps releasing updated spec products every year, what kind of baseline do these developers create their games with? One of the things about consoles is that throughout the 5+ year lifespan, you know that every console will be able to play your game. So in the future, will these developers develop for ipad versions that are 5+ years old to make sure the whole userbase can play?

Nope.. You already have iPad2 exclusive games and IPhone3GS/4 and up games.. who cares about the older devices.. as long as apple can get the new devices out with the same or better popularity of the old one and sells like hot cakes developers shouldn't have to worry about the 2 year+ old devices..

i only agree because i think tablets will take the place of pc's over the next decade or so. I think tablets will be powerful enough to not really need a desktop anymore. Just a bigger screen to plug your tablet into to. I dont know very many people with full home desktops anymore any ways. Usually no pc and use their phone, or a tablet.

Hmm...wouldn't it be possible to do something like PC devs do? Make the graphics adjustable.

yea, but you would have the same problem as pc devs. Incompatibility issues depending on how big the changes were. Not to mention a lot apps/games have to made for andriod and apple, maybe even windows if it picks up steam.
