Sony is going to have to walk about 3 generations in Nintendo's shoes before they get even close to being the company "gamers love to hate."

See i have nothing against Sony when i was growing up if something came from Sony it was top quality and expensive and that has kind of stuck with me never had a problem with Nintendo.

My love hate relationship is with Microsoft i own a 360 and original Xbox and god knows how many copies of windows but my god to i hate them and generally it's nothing the Xbox division have done it's all down to windows, what an utter pile of shite it is, absolutely hate it but i hate apple just as much and can't be bothered with Linux so i'm stuck with it

No your right, "dead last" is out of proportion in this case. Its normally use to say that the last product or person isnt comparable to the next one, that it is far from it. But, it could also be use to say that they did exceptionally poor, which could arguably be true. Even then, we would have to say that both the PS3 and 360 are dead last compare to the Wii. Ironicaly, one of the basic behind "hating" is using out of proportion wording to demonstrate your point of view. That being said, it looks like an honest mistake.

I dont think so...it isnt about hating Sony...at least not right now. The PS Vitas biggest challenge is the fact that no one knows it is even coming out. My two nephews (ages 10 and 14) dont know that the PS VIta about to come out...they only know now, because I told them. They each have a PSP, DS, and ipod Touch. They only play the ipod touch now...PSP and DS collect dust. I hope Sony starts marketing the PS Vita soon and wish they focus on the hardware and the software in the advertisements...let poeple know what it has and what it does.

Thats the way of the internet. Everyone hates on everything. Its not just SONY.
The problem SONY has is that they try to deceive the consumer, wich generates more hate in return. How? Promising features that do not ship just so they generate hype and trying to deceive customers into believing that they can get a Vita for an ammount, when in fact they have to pay extra for a memory card to be able to save content. Add to this the fact that their main competitor sells a system substancially more cheaper (the 3DS) wich even includes a "free"SD card of 2GiG.

The fact is that for the same price you can buy alot more value on the competition. Sony gets hate where its deserved.
And lets not even start on how bad both this system and the PSP are marketed.

Indeed, its unfair internet hate beeing thrown around, but SONY does their share to deserve it (and lets not forget when they threatened to prosecute people that commented on youtube about the PS3 jailbreak). I'm afraid they very much are bringing it upon themselves. I said this in the past and i'll say it again. SONY needs a proper marketing and public relations department. The incompetence can be seen 1000 submarine leagues away.

Hmmm... how would someone who does not hate Sony, but feels they are no better or worse than MS and Nintendo answer the poll? Companies exist to make money, and in the process, unlikeable decisions are made. For example...

Nintendo: Poor treatment of 3rd parties and anticompetitive practices against Sega in the 80's and 90's.

MS: Anticompetitive practices in general, and the fact that they bailed out Apple who should have been left to die in the 90's

Sony: Increasingly slipping QC, a series of anti-customer-based decisions (root kits, etc.)
