Forums - Sony Discussion - Let Me Try This Again, Sony Copies Nintendo's Wii U Controller

So I posted a thread the other day and was attacked non stop for it, I also had that thread locked on me for some reason. I was trying to explain how Sony is copying Nintendo's Wii U controller.

But like death and taxes the other quarantee in life is if you say something negative (direct or indirect) about Sony, you will be met head on by fanboys.

I find it extremly sad that a person cannot come on here and post his valid thoughts, whitout being torn to pieces. Especially when the topic being posted not only relates to gaming, but also the future of gaming.

So heres the PROOF that Sony not only copied Wii U's controller, but could possibly be a part of PS4.

http://www.freepatentsonline.com/20110190052.pdf - Nintendo Patent (page 20)

http://appft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=PG01&s1=Sony.AS.&s2=PlayStation&OS=AN/Sony+AND+PlayStation&RS=AN/Sony+AND+PlayStation - Sony Patent

This is clear proof that not only has Nintendo been planning/developing Wii U since 2008 but had the controller patent 5 Months ahead of Sony.

In the future please have some respect for what others write. I may not be a professional writer, but this is what I was alluding to. I cannot be on this site all day defending myself or to write a perfect article.....I have a job and a life.

People really need to stop being so offended to the point of attack because someone decided to write somthing about their beloved console maker.

Pretty sure the PSP came out before 2008.

Also why are you so adamant on pressing this point when you're wrong?

Excuse me how am I wrong? I just provided you proof!

And by the way N64 and Gameboy Advance had console/handheld communication way before Sony!

I had the GBA GC Cable for FF Crystal Chronicles. It did not do this

"Remote Play works by encoding a live video stream of the output image on a PlayStation 3, then delivering it over a wireless network connection to a PlayStation Portable. Actions performed on the PSP such as the pressing of buttons are uploaded back to the PlayStation 3 over the same connection. This is similar in concept to remote desktop in Windows and Linux. The audio may also be sent to and played by the PSP, or instead delivered through the normal PlayStation 3 audio connections, thus allowing the PSP to be used as a remote control for a PlayStation 3 acting as a media player."

Oddly enough unless Nintendo state otherwise at this E3, this is essentially what the Wii U controller is doing.

And I might add that I really don't care regardless. I will win (and millions of others) either way because I always get the newest Nintendo and Sony consoles. I get the best of both worlds.
But the reason why I push this is because I am making a point, I add proof and I still get attacked for it.
Like what the heck is going on here?

As much as I do think many companies copy other company's successful ideas, I don't believe that patents demonstrate an accurate timeline of companies taking the initiative to produce anything. We live at a time where there is a patent arms race going, and most large tech companies are patenting anything that they can imagine to protect themselves against potential lawsuits on products they may produce.

Is this about remote play?

- I'm not reading that entire page.

No it is about 2 tablet like controllers that work with a console. Both patented in the same year. Remote play is just an off topic smoke screen.
