I know I'm a Halo fan.

I knew I was gonna buy it.

I knew already i loved Halo CE.

But what I didnt know was Halo CE 10 years on, is still better than any console shooter since.

Ok so the visuals are loads better on Anniversary. But the gameplay is brilliant.

 I haven't played the original in abou 7 years. But the game design is just so good. Its tactical, and fluid. No QTE's. No scripted moments. No  BS gimmicks. Its amazing how a game from 10 yeaars ago in a genre I enjoy can show how easy and stramlined the modern FPS is. Even Reach, cant compare. 

Halo Aniversary is the perfet Remake. It leaves Halo CE compltely untouched. Th gamplay is exactly the same. You can play the gae with old visuals and old sound. Or Remastered visuals and remastered sound. Or mix and match as you choose. The terminals are Halo fanservice and getting the new Anniversary map include makes me think microsoft dont like money right now. 

Seriously the best remake in gaming history. Of what is still the best consol FPS campaign ever. 

All we need now is  for devs to tak a leaf out of Halo  CE's gameplay.

The game is great but we expected a lot more from the visuals and I just wish it had more maps. But overall the game is great. But your right it is better than Reach

Monkey Island Special Edition is the best Remake ever.

Now I have that said, yes. You can call Halo the best shooter this gen.

On console - sure it's probably still one of if not the best for SP campaign - obviously it's MP has been eclipsed by others doing the same thing better.

However if I bring in PC I still say Half Life franchise tops it, particularly for SP campaign.

But on console sure it remains great - in fact it reminds me how much Halo itself has fallen with regards campaign, from the pitch perfect original to the weak Reach SP campaign.

I dont think Reach was weak. At least compared to the tosh  of campaigns we have nowadys. Next to Halo CE  though it has fallen.

EDIT: Halos miltiplayer IMO is the last decent Console MP. Its not unbalance with weaon upgrades and perks. Its traditional MP the way it should be.

Oh you will remember how much MS loves money when they release Anniversary map pack 2 and 3.

In the original their were 14 maps and 16 in the pc version and now you only have 6 including maps from Halo 2...

You can remake whole the campaign but not all the maps? Why? and the saddest thing is that it doesn't play like Halo CEA at whole (MP).

Halo CE was great when it released but playing it today makes me miss the other games. All those weapons/abilities that I got used to are gone and the 'improved graphics' don't really do a thing for me...

I'd say I have to disagree with you, Halo CE is a great game and is definitely one of the best FPS's out there but for me Halo 3 is still the best FPS I have ever played. It brought the best of Halo CE and Halo 2 to make a truly outstanding game.

Oh believe me there are many better online console games than halo

Halo CEA is amazing buuuut, that honour goes to Left 4 Dead 2
