next thing Gamestop will offer a downloadservice, with a specially trained employee coming to your house and download the games for you.

If you're not the CEO of Gamestop, you should be.

I know, right? The world is just not fair!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Man GameStop is greedy, I still have to shop at my local EBGames but man I hate the company. This is insanity if you download a PSN game or Wii game or 360 game you can always redownload the games again if the files get corrupted. This is just pure highway robbery!

Sounds fair and reasonable. If we break a disc, no one will replace it unless we have insurance, so why should digital distribution be different?

Because a DD replacement is just bandwidth costs (which are next to nothing). A disc replacement is the cost of the disk shipping loss of inventory (just one, but still).

that a frecking amazing idea... I'm sure gamestop will earn a few million dollars from this... I should have thought of this..

because dd is way cheaper means of delivering media. no disc or packaging costs. no shipping costs. no printing costs. More money per dollar is already going to everyone involved. Also, if you need to rebuy a disc you must have realllllyyyyyy been neglegent. things happen to hard drivers all the time. Also, games on our harddrive really dont have any monatary value for us...  with discs we can sell them and recoop some of the initial costs back...so why reimburse someone with a game who may have already been reimbursed? and that could also potentially take sales away from the game in the long run. if people want a DD only game they have to buy new. and the only reason they need to redownload it is to play it again.

WTF!?!?! who pays for something like that on digital media?

Insurance is for when you get into an accident while playing your games. Carpal tunnel is that #1 gaming injury that been costing billions of dollar per year in direct medical costs...

I sound so believable.
