Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 STOLEN!!

Fortunately not mine, but my nephew's. PS3 gone, Move controller, Nav controller and 2 DS3's gone, about 12 games gone. The only things the burglers left behind were LBP and the PS Eye. 6 of the stolen games were mine that I had lent to my nephew.

On a slightly lighter note, the PS3 was the only thing the burglers deemed to be worth stealing, because nothing else was taken, and that includes a laptop and a relatively new flat screen TV.

My main concern is that insurance will pay out on market value, rather than replacement value. That would mean enough to replace the PS3 and the peripheral hardware, but there wouldn't be enough to buy 12 games. There might only be enough to buy half that, even if we buy used.

Fingers crossed my sister-in-law has full replacement insurance cover.

Sounds like the culprit is someone that knows the owner did it.

I bought mine from Holland for 400 euros, no wonder it might be stolen hehe. XD :P

Contact Sony and see if they can trace the system when it goes online.  Crooks can't resist free online!  The bigger issue (at least for me) is the data stored in the PS3.  If mine were to vanish, the crooks could blow my entire bank account on PSN titles since my info is already in the system.  Now that I think about it, the same goes for my 360 and PSP.  I'd better change that right now.

Stole the PS3 to run homebrew I guess...J/P. I remember one time I took my PSP to school and that's when it had just came out. I wen't to the bathroom came back and the shit was gone... long story short came home and got my ass whoopd :((
