@therepublic  why risk time and money on trying to bring people to visit your website that really have no interest in visiting game websites at all??? Branching out would be a good thing, but lets be real, my WiiSport playing aunty does not give a crap about gaming websites, i dont think she even knows how to use the net

You could be right. The only site i really follow other than here is Joystiq, where that might have been different on other sites

Hate to interrupt, but I want to say this; He can make a review of bananas so entertaining.

He reviewed the FOAM in the SEGA CD boxes and it RULED. I've been watching him since 2007-2008, I wish the other guy (David) would come back.

I found Classic Game Room in 2008 and never looked back Mark is Awesome.

classic game Room imo is the best reviewer. Unfortunately he does review games a little late. (he just reviewed god of war collection that came out more than a year ago). Dont really know if he gets review copies of games either.

Well it is called Classic Game Room XD

and he Reviews Games of any Generation not just the latest one and that why there are no scores attached to his reviews.

For the most part I agree that Gaming Journalism as a whole is pretty awful but I gotta give mad props to Geoff Keighley.  He seems to be as absolutley objective as possible and does give some pretty great interviews.  He's probably my favorite gaming journalist. 

And even though X Play can be awful Adam Sessler is an awesome dude and a legend in terms gaming journalists.

That is an extreme example.  There are a lot of gamers out there that they are not capturing with their current product.

Ya, everything there is what we here at VGChartz try not to do. Our review philosophy is different then most, our news typically is balanced (and if someone posts something questionable we do discuss it with them so they don't do it again), and we listen to our users.

 

On podcasts, we have tried to do them. They are hard to setup and have everyone around and willing to do that, so we don't bother even though I'd love to do them.

Pretty much agree with the entire thread. I'm sick of the rampant fanboyism, the bias, and just general lack of professionalism. I'm so sick of IGN and their inconsistencies, I've been lurking here for a bit but am probably going to start posting now because it seems like a pretty legit forum and there doesn't appear to be the fanboy wars you see in EVERY comment section at IGN.
