Gran Turismo 5 will fail to sell...

Best Selling Gran Turismo 939 37.95%

2nd Best Selling Gran Turismo 494 19.97%

3rd Best Selling Gran Turismo 389 15.72%

4th Best Selling Gran Turismo 116 4.69%

The Worst Selling Gran Turismo 536 21.67%

Total:2,474

as much as the Best Selling Gran Turismo.IMO.

I expect it to have a Solid Launch, compared to the other Gran Turismo's, which i think will give it a advantage compared to the others, but its legs IMO will be massive compared to most games out there.

Whats everyone think? Will it be the Best Selling Gran Turismo or Perhaps the Worst?
(This is only Main series of Gran Turismo ,1,2,3,4,5.)

*EDIT*
The poll is for what position Gran Turismo 5 will be in Sales wise.

I could see it pulling off 7.2 million tops; this is the benchmark PS3 title in terms of jumping that sales hurdle.

FF13 got mixed reactions and still pulled off 4.3m on the PS3.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

It won't beat GT3 at almost 15 million, and the rest is really close to each other /- 10 million. I'd say it should be able to just edge 11m, so i'd say 2nd best.

I've mentioned this a few times already but sales in developing nations will help GT5 out significantly. I think it could crack 1 million in the non-traditional markets, helping it to become the best selling GT game in EMEAA. I'll say 11-12 million and and 2nd best seller, unless GT4 continues to sell and cracks 11 million as well.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

I think 7 million would be somewhat low.  Rumor has it Sony is prepping 7 million copies just for launch.

That wouldn't be surprising, in all honesty.  Gran Turismo has historically been the best selling IP on PlayStation platforms, topped only by Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and San Andreas on ps2.  Now that the franchise's biggest competition is multiplatform (both GTA and now CoD), I believe it will yet again be the best selling series on its respective platform, with GT5 topping Modern Warfare 2's >8.69 million.

OT:

I think it could be the second best selling GT of all time.  I think it'll break 10 million eventually, and GT and GT4 are at 10.85 and 10.56 respectively.  If it dies out just north of ten million, it could easily end up being the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th best selling GT, given how close in proximity they are.

In direct comparison to GT4, I think it'll do better in EMEAA, about the same in NA, and worse in Japan.  Europe is actually the one region in which GT4 outpaced GT3.

It won't reach GT4 numbers.

im thinking 7-9 million numbers. if it released last yeat it could have had a chance of getting to 9 million, but all of the delays hurt it.

another bad decision by sony.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Do you have any proof on that?
Or is that just a wild guess?

This generation we have seen the following:

DMC4 outsold DMC3 (multiplat but I believe the PS3 version alone would have too had it been exclusive)

MGS4 outsold MGS3

GOW3 outsold GOW2

FF13 outsold FF12 (multiplat but the PS3 version alone did 4.3 Million and by the time it ends selling will be at 5 Million....so had it been exclusive the PS3 version alone would have done more)

The only exception is GTA4....

Otherwise we can see that the new iteration of a franchise outsells the last in the previous gen

However as GTA4 is the only exception I'll treat it as an anomaly, this is why I expect GT5 to outsell GT4 at the least! But if it doesn't it will still not be the lowest selling GT!!

I went a little more in depth at what GT5 could really achieve WW. The main thing I looked out was EMEAA sales for all consoles and of course, past GT efforts.

The thought that makes the most sense in my mind At the Moment is that.... GT5 could nab 4.5m in EMEAA when things are all said and done. I can't really see more than 1.0m from Japan.

America is the wildcard here. They might not be as passionate about racing as them Europeans lol However sales may still be fairly close.

I'd say Good-case scenario: 4.5m EMEAA/ 1.0m Japan/ 3.3m America.

So I guess GT5 will sell 8.8 million!
