Wiimote and 3DS
Both don't seem like they will be huge at all.....And how is "Kinectmals w/e" a new experience? GTFO!
move, coke is loved all over the world by millions....kinda hard to fight ads like that, coke is EVERYWHERE (drinking one now lol)
I think both will be heavily inhibited by both price and their late entry into the generation.
As for which won't do as badly as the other, it could go either way, imo. They each have an advantage over the other:

Aye I took that aswell... But a key seller here is ''New''. No controllers...stuff for the family etc...Wii has been out for a good while now..I'm sure theres many that would like to try something new*regardless if its move or kinect* Thing is theres still alot of Casuals out there to sell too...if there wasnt wii wouldnt still be selling like it has been. I think thats what kinect is going for and a good*if just 1 out of 65 wii owners buy it..thats alot* chance at trying to get the current wii owners to ''Upgrade''. |
People don't buy new stuff simply because it's new. People buy new stuff because it offers new experiences. With the currently announced games lineup, I do not see much that kinect offers that is actually new - it is using a new method (camera) of doing exactly the same thing as the Wii.
I did address people who don't currently own any console in an earlier post, to recap. The price comparison between Wii and Natal for someone who owns nothing is Wii - $200 (system, motion and 1 game), Natal $350 minimum (system, motion and 1 game). The Wii has been out a lot longer and has an incredible back catalogue of motion games, and it has so much more brand recognition that kinect.
I'm going to say Move.
Kinect seems too disjointed from their current gaming setup (analogue stick controls) for them to meld together to make games for everyone. Based on their showing at E3, it looks to cater exclusively to the "casual" gamer, where as with Sony's, you can tell they've made an effort to at least look like they are considering everyone (Sorcery looks okay, and definitely SOCOM).
Kinect won't see success in Japan and that's all I'm gonna say.
My opinion wouldn't hold much valu if I said anymore since I don't like either.
ive seen some positive things on main stream media about kinect. not seen anything about move.
so microsoft is already connecting with their target pretty good.

"Its like sex, but with a winner!"

How would you know if KINECT is going to be on OPRAH/ELLEN/all these wonderful shows?
I don't even want to continue posting in this thread.. The fact I'm reading "KINECT IS INNOVATION, PS MOVE IS A WII RIP OFF" is just extraordanary..
you can continue to have your own opinions, but all of you ignored PS MOVE at GDC because you all (most of the posters in this thread) don't even have a ps3.. I do, and I saw the games, and the reception for it was incredibly positive.. just because microsoft decided to finally reveal kinect and its games, doesn't mean suddenly the entire population wants kinect.. Move has had a head start, and will continue to have it come September.. so let's see who does better. Oh and i'm more than certain SONY wont just use coke cans as a form of advertisement..
The problem with Kinect is that you're locking yourself onto rails, literally. "Rail shooter" Star Wars game, racing games with absent acceleration controls, etc. With some types of games, it will be a liability, which sucks. The dance/fitness crowd, now, is another business.
So Move might be move successful, at least it has buttons :/
