Looks way better than even the initial trailer graphically. Awesome gameplay!

That was my thought too watching the TGS stream; not sure whether it was youtube compression, but everything in the TGS showing looked so much more crisp and clean.

My previous impressions were that it looked just okay graphically, but now I'd say it's above average for the platform.

With so much of the Switch library being ports from other platforms, its interesting to see what can be achieved when devs build from the ground up for it.

I'm not saying this too just act like a great predictor or something but, I kind of assumed this would happen?

I'm pretty sure the trailer for that Direct was sort of old, and the demo it was using was probably even older. Honestly wouldn't be shocked if the reveal trailer was using a January-March build, even if the trailer itself wasn't that old. Whereas I assume this livestream was using a much more recent, if still well-tested, demo build.

On another note, I might buy Pokemon if they do end up releasing the Pokemon + DLC on the eshop at $60. I don't know which version to buy though, both versions have cool exclusives. Would probably go for Sword. Which sucks because I really like Allister's design.

This is kind of usual for a MH game but the monsters themselves are the standout, Tetranadon, the amphibian from the demo hunt, just looks and moves in a such a lifelike way, such great animation, plus the texturing of his skin and the shaggy moss growing on him.

Even in MH Tri on Wii I remember being really impressed by the monsters.

Man I really hope Crash 4 comes to the Switch, it looks so awesome.

I don't see any reason why it shouldn't, given it runs similarly on base systems to games that have been successfully ported like Spyro, Hellblade, and Witcher 3, and the N.Sane Trilogy sold quite well on Switch. Still, you never know with third parties.

Eh, these days you always know. Always either a shitty port or a miracle port, somewhere between 6 to 9 months later. Not applicable to very high-end games, which Crash 4 isn't.

I don't think Crash 4 would be either a shitty or a miracle port; most likely just a solid one like the Crash N.Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited, and Crash Team Racing.

Along with 3D All Stars, one of the worst kept secrets of the year gaming wise.

Good game, but I already own it on 360 so this remaster has no value to me.

So I finally decided to buckle down and actually play some games.

I buy more than I play so I have a sizeable backlog. I’ve given up on ever completing my unfinished 3DS, WiiU and Wii games (and NES/SNES Mini Classic games), but my unfinished Switch games should hopefully still be doable. Nevermind games on other systems. Started with resuming Luigi’s Mansion 3. I got until about halfway last year, but played every other floor beside the final one during this last week. Loved the Pyramid floor and its boss, and the floor with the three sister magicians, but the swimming pool boss was pretty annoying. Anyway one floor to go (I’m assuming, no spoilers please), but I’m going back to the other floors to see if I can still find the missing Gems and Boos.

When I’m done I’m moving on to Super Mario Odyssey, which I had nowhere near finished.

Not sure if Warframe + replaying retro games will carry me all the way through to the release of Age of Calamity, might have to find something else new to buy soon.

Here the bullshit Nintendo rumor of the week.

I sincerely doubt that Nintendo has a big Metroid game in the works for Switch that's gonna ship in North America by December 31st.

But man would a Metroid game be great for this year. I would like another 2D one like Metroid Samus Returns. Really enjoyed that one.
