They've certainly amassed a great deal of industry talent over the last few years.
What remains to be seen is whether management is still up to the task of actually producing a game, something they haven't done in over six and a half years.
I wonder when will Monolith Soft's high fantasy RPG be actually announced (as in, giving the name of the game and a trailer/teaser) if it's still a thing.

Nothing officially was said but certain things pointed to something original as they were recruiting for people who were knowledgeable in something western centric indicating the high fantasy project may be similar to the likes of Dark Souls or Dragon's Dogma.
