That their console is a GAMING SYSTEM, not an ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE.


Its great that you can play movies, music, etc on PS3 and 360 but come on, we already have DVD players/CD players and if we want Blu ray we can buy a standalone player. Nintendo just focused on gaming and not other fancy stuff.

Well right now... my favorite thing about Nintendo is that they let some of their main programmers (Mario and Zelda guys) stay late after work as kind of an after-hours club to just work on some bonus project on their free time, and they had absolute freedom, just messed around and had fun, and were even inspired by Twin Peaks (my favorite TV show), and this is how they made The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the Game Boy, my favorite Zelda game, and the turning point in the series to make it darker and more mysterious. I think it's crazy and awesome that they would let their team do that, and even throw in a bunch of random Mario characters for no reason.

My favorite thing is about Nintendo is that most of their games have one similar quality. They are easy to learn, but take an obsessed gaming maniac to master them. That and the word fun.

1. Their games never get old (Nintendo = Fun)

2. They don't claim "It Only Does Everything!" when it really doesn't. (PS3 can't play PS2 games)

3. They are leaders not followers who blatantly copy others. (Sony, M$)

4. They strive for the next best thing in gaming. (Controller, Touch Screen, Motion etc.)

5. They have the best gaming hanhelds and are undefeated in that space. (Gameboy, DS)

6. Nintendo is the RISK TAKER of the gaming industry. (DS, Wii)
