Bioshock 1 sold well, and many critics and fans (like myself) agree that it's one of the best games of this console generation. Why is it that there seems to be zero hype for its sequel, which comes out in 2 weeks?

Personally, I cannot wait to play it and I'll likely buy it on the day it comes out.

Hype on the intranetz is usually reserved for console exclusives these days...

Packed exclusives this spring. Honestly now that I am a 3 system owner, it is actually a bit harder to get hyped about 3rd party titles. I will get it eventually though, Bioshock was my intro to this gen and it blew my mind. Only Bioshock and oddly the roadie run in Gears have really blown my mind graphically this gen so far.

I agree somewhat but there are exceptions such as MW2, GTA, and FFXIII to name a few.

Because it's multiplatform. No one gets bragging rights for multiplatforms.

TBH I'm not overly excited myself. I recognise the tremendous quality of the original Biochok and the sequel will probably be just as good, but the linear gameplay puts me off.

Im very hyped for Bioshock 2, but im to busy being hyped for WKC: IE first and foremost.

It seems when it left 360 exclusivity and came to PS3 ... people have become less vocal about it... just like lost planet 2...

Still it WILL be great if the first one is anything to go by, the creepyness alone is worth it!

It's a multiplat online FPS which tries to be different.

Which means, I'm afraid, that it will get very little internet attention. I'll buy it. But I know to wait a couple of weeks, because the price will probably drop significantly. I'll be pleasantly surprised if BioShock 2 outsells the original, to be honest.

Please don't compare BioShock 2 to that thing.

I'm very hyped for it. Even more so considering it comes out like a week before my birthday. Though as everyone else has said it's hype isn't that vocal do to being multi. The only way you can get around this is if the franchise is already huge and the company itself hypes it.
