metal gear is a game many ps fans have been dying to play on a next gen system, so on release it sold well.

gow3 may not have as big as a fan base as mgs, but is more accessible than mgs will probably have twice as large as a user base to sell it to.

can't remember too well, but i dont think mgs4 was advertised much (or any ps3 game at that moment in time) compared to how sony may advertise gow3 on release.

i wouldnt be surprised if gow3 does similar numbers to mgs4 or maybe even outsells it.

Why does everyone think that this will sell more than G.O.W 1&2?

Its to a less userbase than the PS2 and its only popular in America.

So I say 920K 1st week and 2.4 Million lifetime still.

because gow1 + gow2 were on a console which had more exclusives and more choice of games when the ps2 was at its peak. gow3 is being released where there are not as many games being released and on a console which has lost a lot of exclusives, thus the customers have less options on what games to buy.

the ps2 also had a lot of people who were on their 2nd maybe 3rd console. i went through 3 ps2's and i am sure i am not the only one.

possibly same reason why mgs3 snake eater sold less than mgs2 and mgs4.

Multiply yours by two, GoW III has been getting getting a lot of hype. 

atleast 4m cause their will be word of mouth spread and and good reviews

i say 4m+ remember when everyone said oh MGS4 will sale about the same or less than MGS3 and look what happen remember this is a new gen where we are seeing software monsters i expect GOW3 to surpase alot of peoples expectations

I believe it'll clear 3mil.

Critical acclaim will be very influential, as with UC2.

I say between 2.5-3.2M LTD.

I'm hoping for at least 2-3 million right on the first day but sadly I don't think it will do that good on the first day.
