Forums - Microsoft Discussion - MW2 DLC : exclusive to the Xbox360 for ... 1 month !

1 Month?...

Most pathetic thing i've possibly seen regarding "Timed exclusive" content.

Especially when at least a part of that said content is already on the disc.

What is the map with some crashed plane? Scrapyard maybe? I mean the one in a desert.

I hate that map.

That is Afghan, I love that map. I went 30-0 on that map just a couple of days ago and I was not using a sniper rifle. Just my M4A1

EMULATION is the past.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

This is why I dislike Microsoft IMHO they seem to buy their way into the industry. No doubt there is money involved here, each move Microsoft  strengthens my resolve my to Sony.

I may be mistaken but this is exactly what Sony did to get into the industry when facing Nintendo. History repeats itself once again. Do some research on Sony's past before making comments about Microsoft.

Not just facing Nintendo either, GTA last gen comes to mind. Of course, nobody will remember that because Sony is perfect and Microsoft is the root of all evil (at least that's a popular opinion on this site).

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Most worthless waste of cash ever seen.

not really, think of all those consumers that have both a ps3 and a 360 and bought MW2 for both systems and now are forced to choose between buying the new maps for their 360 or ps3.   this is a major deciding factor for that segment of the community.

because there are guys buying MW2 for both system ? just lol man

it was meant to be sarcastic but as you are the 2nd person laughing at me i must have failed to come across correctly.  oh well...

So let me get this straight...Microsoft, secured the rights (in some way, be it money, considerations, marketing dollars, whatever) to ensure that my experience on the 360 version of Call of Duty 2 is richer, for a while, than others...

DAMN THEM!!!!!!!! HOW could they do this to me?!?!

Gaming and the internet. Serious business.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Nah, I had a Saturn when Sony rolled into the game, the only thing I remember was the PS1 being a superior platform (sales) from about the release of FF7 and things snowballed from there. Also it was Nintendos lack of foresight in where the industry was going and its inability to change (albeit now rectified, amongst casual$ at least). Sony this time around has a viable platform which is at least equal to if not greater than the 360 but keeps loosing out on DLC simply through exclusive rights' money.

I could be wrong but I can't remember any exclusive 1,6 or 12months rights back then.

It's just business I suppose but as I said before it's detrimental to the industry since PS3 gamers miss out and microsoft loose, waste money which could be invested in future IP's or R&D on something just for the purposes of one-upmanship. I blame microsoft for this and it's snowballed into problem (for me) from E3 2007 (GTA4), because now I see companies holding content back (Tomb raider U & RE5 come to mind) to make extra cash for content that should have been on the disk from the start.

I'm not trying to say Sony is innocent or some kind of perfect company but rather that since microsoft joined the game its been a quasi business for all parties.

You're so wrong about this it's atually kind of funny. Sony did everything that you accuse Microsoft of doing. They worked out sweet deals with Circuit City and other large chains to keep Sega and Nintnedo out. They also spent a lot of money buying up exclusives. You do know that when the PSX launched they payed $12 million to keep Mortal Kombat III exlcusive to PSX for six months, right? They also payed money to keep Tekken and Ridge Racer exclusive to PSX. They spent money to secure Final Fantasy and all Sqaure Games, they even purchased a chunk of Square. They cock blocked Tomb Raider from coming out on other systems, and tried to do the same with Resident Evil.

In the PS2 era they did it too. Even though SoulCalibur II sold decently on other systems, Sony funded and kept Soul Calibur III from coming out on other systems. Don't kid yourself, if Sony had money to spend they would do it in a second. If they had money they would have kept GTAIV exclusive, Ken Kutaragi just didn't want to play ball. There are countless stories of Sony buying off people, I can't believe you haven't heard any of them. Do you really believe that a huge entertainment conglomerate like Sony did it the honest way? Nintendo and Sega were the only true video game companies. Sony and Microsoft are equally evil, and both muscled their way into the industry.
