hmm odd. i think some people use the term fanboy loosley- not specifically aimed at any one individual but so to speak generally.

Fanboy is a degenerate term. In a forum that considers itself, to some extent to be the maturity of the VG Internet society. As such fuck and cock and any other vulgar terms are allowed in the proper sense but I'm pretty sure if you go to forums like they have a rule against fanboyism as it calls for trolling. For that matter I think anyone who to your degree uses the word fanboy, calls upon a response of negative nature and surely one wouldn't say that if he was a fan of the topic making it seem like he a fan of the contrary and thus a "fanboy himself".
