to say Epic Mickey is most important to Nintendo in '10

is no different than people claiming Conduit was the most important game to Nintendo in '09.

heard people claim both, I predict similar results.

This game has tons of potential.

I agree. This game and Red Steel 2 (with the potential of WM+) are the two Wii 3rd party titles that I see with the most potential this year. I'm definitely looking forward to both.

However, seeing the Haunted Mansion concept art in Epic Mickey... well... let's just say that I'm especially excited for that title.

this shows that you never read the article.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Holy crap! What the hell was that?

My thoughts exactly....seriously wtf is that?

Maybe based on how Epic Mickey does, Disney might push SE to a KH Wii game?

Or maybe Disney is releasing this game exclusive to the Wii, because it plans to release KH3 for the PS3 and 360 only, this way Wii only owners can't be angry because they have been given a quality Disney game built from the ground up for the wii, it's just Epic Mickey and not KH3, and at the end of the day Epic mickey would be a lower risk on the wii than say putting KH3...well that's my opinion.

To be honest, this is what I actually see happening...I mean 3rd party have not been very successful as a whole on the wii when it comes to core games, so with a franchise like KH3 they'll want to put it on the platforms which 3rd part sells well on, which is why I say that KH3 will be a multiplaform game made for the PS3 and 360, but this is just my speculation on what could happen given the current climate of 3rd part on wii and the HD twins.

You are forgetting a major factor - demographics. KH was initially intended to be a FF for the younger crowd. Where are all the kid gamers? On the Wii.

Disney will have its answer to see how many kids would get Epic Mickey this year, and thus have a solid answer of whether the game would work on the Wii.

To be honest, I think that they would just go multiplat, cover the Wii and PS3, since there is a cult following from the PS2 KH games.

I don't think some people really understood the blog itself. The game will be important not simply because it's a game but mostly because of what it will be doing for the Mickey Mouse character itself. It's apart of what Disney has been doing a while now with many of it's characters, updating them and redoing them in subtle yet important ways for newer generations. If one hasn't watch Disney channels or seeing some of their shows in a while it's easy to miss it I think. This is just another thing Disney is doing. Kingdom Hearts I believe is apart of that as well.

There is no doubt this game will do well. Disney will make sure it won't fail. You can believe for sure this will get coverage on all Disney channels owned channels (ABC, ESPN, etc) as it gets closer to release. During the morning shows and during prime time. Don't be surprised if you see a special or two on it on Disney, Disney XD, and maybe ABC Family as well near release. Disney has the ability, without any major cost to themselves, to give this a maketing push similar to the one Modern Warfare 2 got. Perhaps an even better one due to all the resources and outlets they have. The game is dealing with THE Mouse himself and Disney's original character. Niche title this will not be. If you are a fan of Mario you most likely will be a fan of this game I think. It looks like it could very well have that type of cross over.

Now I wonder though if Nintendo will be jumping in and help push this as well. A good "If you love Mario you'll love Epic Mickey" tag could go a long way as well. It's something Nintendo has never done for another company or character before so it should stand out as well.
