Or maybe Disney is releasing this game exclusive to the Wii, because it plans to release KH3 for the PS3 and 360 only, this way Wii only owners can't be angry because they have been given a quality Disney game built from the ground up for the wii, it's just Epic Mickey and not KH3, and at the end of the day Epic mickey would be a lower risk on the wii than say putting KH3...well that's my opinion.

To be honest, this is what I actually see happening...I mean 3rd party have not been very successful as a whole on the wii when it comes to core games, so with a franchise like KH3 they'll want to put it on the platforms which 3rd part sells well on, which is why I say that KH3 will be a multiplaform game made for the PS3 and 360, but this is just my speculation on what could happen given the current climate of 3rd part on wii and the HD twins.

I think that you can argue that Kingdom Hearts was the beginning of some reimagining of Mickey Mouse. I never would have thought of Mickey as being 'badass' until that game lol. I hope this works out for them. I love Disney (even more so after Kingdom Hearts) so I would like for them to succeed.

That's why i said chance, not will. Much like how the Japanese will be more receptive to a big game on handhelds, the effect is opposite in the West, where full-sized 3D games on handhelds are less likely to catch on than if they were on a console. Equally, this one is going to get a big push

The market just might not be there for it, but in the west, it has a better chance to prosper on Wii than on PSP.

I think the doubters are WAY underestimating the potential of this game.  I think it could have stratosphere-sized sales, at least in the same range as Mario and Sonic 5+million range in sales. You guys are forgeting that this is Disney!

When Disney wants to sell a product, the have the marketing muscle to get people hyped.  Epic Mickey may end up being the most-heavily marketed Wii game ever.  Disney has a lot of outlets from theme parks, animated movies, TV network, website, sports channels to get this product out there.  It appears that they really want to remake Mickey.  If so, then they will stop at nothing to let people know about this product.

Marketing Epic Mickey will not just be marketing a video game, it will be a complete re-marketing of the Disney brand.  Disney will actually be doing 2 marketing campaigns with this one. 

The demographic of Wii and Disney is very similar.  All Disney needs to do is figure out how to get all those people that bought the  Hannah Montana game to come out in droves. 

Finally, Specter is a fabulous game maker.  He is much more than Deus Ex.  He was the creator of Ultima which inspired Warcraft.  This will be a FUN game that will have Mario-like appeal. If the came comes to proper fruition,  the crowd that bought New Super Mario Bros. Wii might show up for this one.

This isn't going to be another crappy 3rd party game that doesn't get marketed.  Disney is going to give this Modern Warfare like treatment.  This game has serious potential to catch fire, and if it does it could easily outsell any of the top HD games coming this year.

I make a bold prediction, but I think Disney took appropiate risks and has the power to market this game.  Now all we need to do is wait and see if this game is any good.
