One Piece Pirate Musou saw first day shipments of 650,000 units, Namco Bandai said today. This is a record shipment figure for games based off the One Piece franchise.

Released today, Pirate Musou combines One Piece character and world elements with gameplay from Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors/Musou series. It's the latest in a series of collaborations between Namco Bandai and Temco Koei's Omega Force studio that also includes Gundam and Fist of the North Star.

Namco Bandai has thus far released 32 games based off the One Piece franchise. The first was From TV Animation One Piece Arise, Pirate King!, released for Wonderswan in 2000.

650K first day sales does not mean 650k first day sold.. Many games had only 1 shipment likes of FFXIII & FFXIII-2 even i think GT5.. shipped around 550k and sold 424k First week..

Its a rarity that a second shipment is sent in the first week. happened but not so often.. OPPM will be lucky to burn through first day shipment in even 3 weeks.

Ussually 1pt less than 1k of unit solds... it depend of the game.. I see this chart more as "Buy intentions from customers" than pre-ordered units.. Some games make 1pt=1k, some more.. some less...I think Not knowing exactly is what make fun the predictions XD

I know its basically just Dynasty Warriors, but it looks so much more fun.

But to get the first week shipment of 750k means that 650k will be sold within the first couple of days to send another 100k shipment in first week..

This is not my MOST WET DREAM as One Pieace fan... My dream as OPFan is a Grand Line MMORPG, You choose East, West, North or South Blue... and ship from there to the Grand Line... once there... You choose wich magnetic current will follow.. and You coudl be on events that on the anime just said or You don't know have happened.. Choose Your character..find a Devil's fruit... choose your crew from others players.. be Captain or be just cremate... Choose between classes..find a ship... figth others pirates or the marine.. So much fun on the series that could go for the a Game.. even if is not MMO it could be a adventure set on one Piece Wolrd with online cooperative...^^

And You could choose be a marine.. Nice idea eh? Did You red namco-Bandai?! I KNOW YOU'RE THERE!

"First day for One Piece is estimated >200k, could top top 500k for the week depending on the movement of weekend, manufacturer has already shipped more than once, shipment for the week will be close to 700k."
