Forums - General Discussion - Haitians suffer because they made a deal with the devil

I think I might do a test, I will ask to do a deal with the Satan the Satan exists, if he doesn't appear then he doesn't exist. I want to sell my soul to him, I will call him to do this deal.

*Calls for Satan and waits*

Nope. Nothing. Just as I thought. To be honest, I don't think many people believe in Satan any more, it's obvious he was made up to scare people into the church some time ago.

Why didn't they just make a deal with God?

God? Yeah right. That guy expects you to beg him for the privilige of taking your soul.

You know, I've never thought of it like that.  God is all "high maintenance".  He says, "If you want to get with me, you have to worship me and me alone, stop eating pork, don't steal cable, and accept my son."  The devil is like, "Hey baby, I like your soul just the way it is.  You're good enough for me!"

Of course, I'm still going to worship God.....but I may have an affair with the devil.

And who to blame.

I wouldn't call Pat Robertson a Christian leader...

I must confess, I didn't know who he was when I came into this thread, but I agree. A quick Google search shows me he is a bit loopy. Apparently feminism is a sin, huh.

Anyway, it's sick how he has the audacity to make this kind of statement. I imagine not many people share his views by the looks of things... Maybe Fred Phelps.

That's the cool thing about God, I guess. As long as you get down on your knees and say you're really, really sorry, he always takes you back. Even if you reek of Satan sodomy.

Have I been sacrigiligous enough in this thread? I like making smartass jokes, but I don't actually like offending deeply religious people. Please don't smite me!

Didn't he also say 9/11 was caused by lesbians?

Thats the thing. No one knows who this guy is outside of a few Christian circles. He has never led a denomination, or is a leader of Christian theology. He runs a TV station, and has a decent mind for business and has made some good investments. That doesn't make one a 'Christian leader' - I don't think he has any followers.

See, the issue with asking God for forgiveness correlates with the idea that you actually repent for what you've done - e.g. are sincere about getting out of bad things. If you don't do that, then your really not asking for forgiveness, and God isn't actually forgiving you - your just making an assumption.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I dunno.  The 700 club is practically a cult.

I remember when i was a young kid, sick from school i turned on the 700 club, flipping through the channels and heard him say

"Donate to us, and god will bless your lives.  Even if your poor, god will surely bless you for your generosity and reward you."

Dude was trying to extort money from the poor.  Ridiculious.  The 700 club reminds me of scientology.

What a stupid piece of shit.
