Just add local multiplayer with bots like in 007 nightfire and make the lvls a little bit less generic and I'll buy it without thinking

what i would like, is that they wouldn't continue making a sequel to a craptacular game. Focus on the grinder, instead of 3 projects at once.

They only just hinted they started planning this. They are likely finishing at least one of those first.

And it was their first game like this. You expect them to get that right out of the gate?

Things I'd like to see in The Conduit 2:

- an ending

- better sound design. I don't want to walk across a room and not be able to hear the radio I just turned on.

- shorter reloading times

- different bosses. I don't want to fight giant crab-esque things all the time.

- local multi-player

- LAN multi-player

- better environmental graphics. Put bloom and normal mapping on everything.

A real controller.

Oh, this could be bad.

They should get in touch with Vanillaware... together, they would do wonders.

These are some of the things I would like to see:

  1. Less linear. Make a few choices of going this way or that way, with slightly different outcomes (alternate endings).
  2. A few tough, hidden puzzles that you do not have to find and solve, but if you do, you get a nice upgrade or story bonus.
  3. More out-door areas where you are not going through recycled tunnels, hallways, or rooms.
  4. More interactive story. Cut scenes with other characters that talk to you and are present in the game with you. People you will care about.
  5. A few subplots or quests that are optional. A few that are manditory.
  6. A better story line. The only interesting part of the story was at the very end. The rest of the original story was so unecessary to the game, that it was hard to be interested or care about it. Threats against Michael's family you would a good twist.
  7. A level where the objective is not to kill every thing you see, but to escape with your life! Get out of there without being caught or killed.

I could probably come up with more if it was not so late and I had not had so much beer....

The original was a decent first effort, but to sell the sequal must be much better.

In the absence of evidence to the contrary, always assume you have the upper hand.

If you were to e-mail this to HVS, there is a high chance they may actually read it.

The art direction needs to be redone (we need a Bungie employee, STAT!). The music was good (when you put the CD in, that music sounded a little tinny; needs upgraded quality). The controls were good but the level design was bland. The problem with the game was that you were never sold on who or what you were fighting. The enemies were uninspired, point blank. They need a distinguished behavior and appearance. Check the Avatar film for world creation.

The online needed work too. Having the only option be a 20-minute minimum match is a no-no, and you could not leave once entered in the game I don't think. There must be time limits set and Kill Limits applied to EVERY match type.

And for God's sake add local multiplayer. I don't care what percentage the graphics go down, just add it. Local multiplayer is a deal breaker. My little sister loved to play Timesplitters Future Perfect because of that. Add bots too. Screw it, provide every local multiplayer option that Timesplitters had and then some and you will be all good, even if you have to switch controllers to do it.

You mean a mouse and keyboard? Because that's a real FPS controller.

1-3. I agree.

4. An interactive story isn't about making you care about people, but allowing you to change actions. Something like if someone was about to be assassinated, you could have a chance to succeed or fail and the game would change according to that. If it was just cut scenes, that's not an interactive story.

5. Um, this is an FPS. Anything that's not the main story is optional.

6. And would be cliche as hell. Plus I'm personally tired of this need to identify with the protagonist. It's manipulative, and it's making the railroading more obvious. Not that the railroading in games is inherently wrong, just that games have recently gone too far and made me feel like the players in DM of the Rings.

7. You want a stealth level? Those are hated just as much as escort missions.

Better graphics and get rid of those lame "puzzles".

Better graphics? That matters more than local multiplayer, better level design, or more levels to you?
