Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why do most third party publishers ignore the Wii completely ?

Lets look at some big, good quality 3rd party games that haven't released on Wii in 2009.

Batman Arkham Asylum

Borderlands

Modern Warfare 2

Assassin's Creed

Those are just a handful.

Why do third party publishers ignore the Wii even though its selling bucket loads ? Its crazy.

Wii games usually have long legs because there are a lot of potential impulse buyers than PS360 combined. And it wouldn't cost a lot to downgrade the graphics to put it on Wii would it ?

With decent advertising along with the PS360 versions, third party publishers can make a lot of money via the Wii.

Why do they ignore it ?

I'm talking about major PS360 multi platform games.

Because the fans eat anything Miyamoto pretty much and nearly ignore everything else. They don't care for Batman: AA. Besides, just release some ok games throughout the year, show 1 concept art of Link posing at an E3 and you have them sold. Oh same works using Mario btw :p.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

Batman would do pretty well on wii imo.

That's pure speculative bullshit. I'm a huge Nintendo fan and I loved Arkham Asylum.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

At BEST it would do as good as NMH which was a little less than 500k if that. Just give them some more Lego Batman with some waggle functions and they'll eat it up though so you're partially right :p.

So what ?

500k for a SD version with minorly downgraded textures, character models, etc. would be profitable and fans would like it (unless they change the gameplay too)

Bah..This have been talked so much.

1:Just think how long games like Mgs 4 were developed and after that they got hang on Ps3 and then they should think how to make it ok with Wii controls and graphics...
2:Some games need power to be good.

3:Wii controls are bad for fighting games like Tekken or SF4 or Devil May Cry.

4:Many of those games developers have been doing same stuff from Ps1>pS2>ps3 with just graphical and gameplay changes. They would need to start from beginning if they would try put sequels of past generation to Wii and that would piss of many of their fans.
5:Wii doesn't have such audience for sequels of Ps2 series or certain type games.
