No, because it peaked in 2008. Now it goes down the hill.

Even if that's true... that doesn't mean 2010 can't or won't be bigger than 2009, lol.

If something goes down the hill from the peak, why would it go back up?

Probably for the various reasons already listed in this thread (lower pricepoint, improved software lineup, higher caliber evergreens, general economic recovery).

Thats not a hill.

That doesn't make sense.

This is a hill. You're not going to go back up on a hill unless you're going backwards.

So you're arguing sales trends based off a physical landmass found in nature.

Here, I'll blow your mind... Wii isn't a hill.  It's a mountain range, PS3 is a hill. ;)

No, no don't change your mind. You were arguing against my analogy.

The first part of the year is going to be great thanks to legs to the already mentioned titles, the problem i can see is... 2010 is too hardcore (lol) Zelda, Metroid, Galaxy those titles can be great, but they don´t move hardware we need more games appealing everyone and less niche games. especially from nintendo, unless they show something soon the 2nd half is dead

Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

Ps3 is not a Hill yet its just a line which goes upwards Wii would look similar to a Hill but next year we can say definetly if Wii is a Hill. The same goes for Xbox360

You're basing your entire argument on the assumption that a hill cannot have more than one peak.

Many graphs do show a bell shape, so there is some basis for this, but not all data sets contain only one peak.

Maybe 2009 could just be a valley between the hills of 2008 and 2010 :P

A hill only has one peak, hills in the other hand have many peaks. No?

^ Semantics dude, just give it up already.

At this point, about all that could keep 2010 from being better than 2009 for them is if they somehow undo the existence of NSMB Wii and/or fail to release anything even half as compelling as the first home console 2D Mario in 18 years for the entirety of 2010.
