No, I am not talking about the PS3 or WRPGxJRPG. Everyone knows the PC isn't strong for RPGs and even if you look at recent RPGs you will find them on consoles, not only that, you will have some incredible games that aren't on PC.

"PC > Every console ever together." is just a biased opinion for me, not a formed opinion on your experience with every console, and if you didn't played any other console why not just choose PC instead of saying such thing?

Types of RPG still come into it. If a randomer sees a poll like this and despises WRPG's, they will naturally not vote for the platform with the most WRPG's.

That seems to be the excuse with 99% of things the PS3 wins on the polls. It's getting boring and sounds emo.

Notice a patern with the type of RPG's though? 360's are mostly WRPG, with 1 pretty decent JRPG. PS3's are pretty much... JRPG. Seeing the site absolutely loves JRPG's... Can you see what im getting at? Sure, PS3 beating out DS is pretty... Shocking. But as for it beating 360, not surprising at all.

yes absolutely.

The question is not about your favourite console/handheld you play RPGs on. It's about "the best console for RPGs", so no it's not about opinions.

It seems like very few people in this forum can judge games objectively.

Hell I don't like the Zelda games and I still acknowledge them for what they are. Great games.

 

I don't care for the majority of DS RPGs and yet I still voted for it, because it has lots of them and they're well received amongst gamers and critics.

Obviously there are biased opinions. I never said there wasn't. I had the rant because whenever a poll comes up with Sony winning (even if they deserve to win) we get a whole load of bullshit "PS3 bias on forums". Its stupid, and is used as Serpahic says, when people are bitter.

Just read your most recent post where you said PC isn't strong for RPG's... I couldn't disagree more. While it doesn't have the whole bunch of JRPG's, it has without a doubt its WRPG library can match that "PC > Every console ever together" statement (when talking WRPG's).

I agree with you they should just vote PC and let it be just that. My beef had more to do with the people in here whining because a poll is in favor of a specific group of gamers making me wonder if they be so bitter if the poll went in an opposite direction.

I am fairly certain they wouldn't be whining and posting up stupid poll results or userbase sizes on the site. They wouldn't whine if Wii and/or 360 won they may just act like it is justice. If however they were going to whine with those winning as well then it just seems so pointless to me to go down that route. Someone is going to win and they need to get used to it, even if it isn't their opinion that holds the majority.

Some people on this site have issues with people not agreeing with their opinion.

I disagree. How can you for example declare that the 360 for example is the best console for RPGs when taste in RPGs vary?

 

Also how can you judge a game objectively? It is all subjective. This is why some great game are disliked and vise versa.

 

As for your last sentence I ask you this:

 

Is my opinion now wrong because I do not care for what critics think? Why are they the end all?

I am sure this is how many others feel as well.

 

Someone would need to be crazy if they expect someone to give and opinion like:

DS is probably considerably better than the rest combined at present. I am guessing that the reason other systems got votes was because of people who are fans of other systems and don't want a Nintendo system winning a poll, or they just are simply unaware of the DS library.
