Paris, on December 22, 2009 – Sony Computer Entertainment France (SCEF) announces today to have sold 2 million consoles PlayStation 3 since its launching at the end of March 2007 (source GKF*).

Since March 23, 2007, date of the launching of PlayStation 3, it was sold almost 2 times more PlayStation 3 than of X Box 360 and the variation of cumulated sales exceeds the 400.000 units (**).

“the psychological price of 299 € enables us to touch the general public and PlayStation 3 fact much better than the PS 2 of which we had run out 1,4 million units beyond 299 €. It confirms its leadership on the French market with respect to X Box 360 which is largely outdistanced” declares Georges Fornay, chairman of SCE France and Senior Vice-president of SCE Europe.

The 6 million plays PlayStation 3 sold over the calendar year 2009 will contribute largely to the total performance of the sector of the plays over the period. At the head prize list for the PS3 appears, inter alia: Cal off Duty: Modern Warfare 2 of Activision, FIFA 2010 of Electronic Arts, Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 of Konami, Uncharted 2 of Naughty Dog and Assassin' S Creed 2 of Ubisoft.

Lastly, beginning of the year 2010 is announced right now like exceptional with launchings envisaged of MAG, the first play with 256 players on line simultaneously, Heavy Rain, new the opus of the studio of David Cage and God off War III which constitute the plays most awaited by the community of the fans of the PS3.
