I am not too worried about looking foolish. I think I have been reasonable though insistant as I don't think you realise how defensive you have been.

Oh, and by the way, the OP is about the PS3 selling 1 million (it's in the title). And it didn't. Hence, don't be surpirsed if a couple people point that out.

Well some people are getting their ribbing in but people do get annoyed when others don't face the music, and as lazyrider pointed out, going as far as starting damage control.

The issue comes in when people that made a huge deal out of it and when they're proven wrong its no longer a big deal.  Honestly if I make an ass out of myself for going ZOMG MOD NATION RACERS WILL BE THE BEST GAME EVER!  And then it comes out and its not as good as I hoped, I'd go as far as to make fun of myself because I did act like an ass.  It really just boils down to admitting that you went a little nuts, having think skin to let a few people get some lulz, and go along with it and make fun of yourself for going nuts.

CGI - I was being sarcastic of course (seeing as you have replied to a fair share of those posting). But Maxwell has pretty much said what needs to be said. Sorry if i wasn't as clear on the matter as him.

Not compared to the huge margin by which PS3 used to outsell the 360 for the past few months.

I agree in two things....

Ps3 was just short of 1 million, not bad (2 straight weeks :O)

There is damage control.... but from the people who screamed Zo0o0o0mfg, Ps3 1 million. And now, they are like "960K isn't bad. It's technically a million"

I know 960K is great, but still, is not a million. A lot of people threw parties b/c of this achievement, that apparently, the ps3 never got. Doesn't matter, next holiday it may do it. But apparently, until now, the ps3 hasn't got a million in one week (according to our standards, Vgchartz.)

Of course CGI, and that's my point, whichever way you look at it, it IS stellar, whether it's 950 or 970 or 1000 doesn't matter at all, we're talking about 5 % difference max.

What is comical is that all the losing console fans have now is nitpicking about 950 k still being inferior 1000 k, which is a bit ridiculous when your console of choice sells 200 k less the same week. ^^

My 2 cents.

Its not nit picking, people have spent 2 weeks gloating over a specific figure that a console sold when it hasn't as adjustments now show.  The comical factor is Sony fans damage control and utter ignorance to understand why they're getting ribbed.  If you make a big thing of a number and then don't hit it, expect these reactions.  In fairness given the arrogance on show by a small portion of the Sony fanbase on here there should be a lot more ribbing over the consoles inability to keep up in the US despite having had a huge price cut, a new model released, the best game ever released (Uncharted 2 if you believe some people here) and a lot of marketing. 

Having written all that I just saw who I replied to and really shouldn't have bothered.

There could very well be more adjustements up or down so I'm going to wait a month and see if things change or not. Either way 950K two weeks in a row for a third place doomed console that was suppose to die in it's 2 year out is nothing short of amazing.

@slowmo : wow you look really bitter... It's not our fault the 360 is outsold worldwide by the PS3 by 200k consoles every week.

No amount of damage control will change those facts. Get over it.
