So I was thinking of how big a year last year was for gaming but last year I just wasn't as happy gaming as I am now.  2008 had some great titles but many of them came out early in the year and were those blockbuster type games that get a lot of hype you play them say how amazing it was and then it goes into your collection and sits while you never pull it out again, at the end of last year I was playing Brawl (still am but thats beside the point) LBP, Naruto UNS, and Animal Crossing only 2 of those came out close to the holidays and neither one have I played as much as LBP and Brawl, plus the overal year seemed to be one big sequelitis that I wasn't digging much, but what I did play I enjoyed and I was happy.

In comes this year and I'm REALLY enjoying my holidays with a lot of great games I know I'm going to play/talk about for a long time.  I'm still on Brawl but not finding as much time to play since I'm playing some awesome stuff like Silent Hill SM, CoD MWR, Zelda Spirit Tracks, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Demons Souls, and trying to find time to squeeze Uncharted 2 in there as well, I mean not only is it a longer list they're really good games that you can play over and over again. 

Point being last night since I messed up and didn't save on Silent Hill over at my friends house he started over so we could check out how the game changes depending on what actions you perform, and his game changed a hell of a lot and was a lot more hateful/spiteful, and I was thinking of how many times I'm going to play it just to see how many "different" games you can get.

Anyway give your feelings on the matter, is this holiday a lot more enjoyable for you?

I would say this holiday is better. And it would be MUCH better if half of it wasn't delayed to 2010.

Personally I enjoyed last year's holiday season more because I got LBP, Persona 4, and Valkyria Chronicles which was fantastic for a gamer of my tastes. Two amazing jRPG's in the same season? Hard to top that for me.

Neither this year or last year have been fantastic for me, but this year has been pretty darn good. Last year I didn't really have much new to enjoy once the holidays rolled around.

Hey I'm finding it hard to play all the stuff I want as it is having it all this holiday season would mean I'd miss out on some stuff, like I probably wouldn't have bought Uncharted 2 if a few other things came out this holiday.

I dunno last year of 2008 we got Valkyria Chronicles... however this year we got DW6: Empires AND tekken 6... oh and phantasy star portable.

among quite alot more.

I'd give the edge to this year though because well, as great as VC was (and it was and still is truly great.) the combo between dw6; e and tekken 6 with a dash of USE = win for me.

I bought VC like Feb this year... and still haven't played it... I keep wanting to get around to it and keep buying OTHER RPGs instead -_-
