i went with New Super Mario Bros Wii (for some reason i was including the DS version as well)

if we're counting strictly the console versions i'd say World is my favorite

Never expected this thread to be revived. Good to see Super Mario Bros 3 in the lead followed by Super Mario World. People seem to know which games are the best.

Super Mario 64 is my fav i grew up with it and ocarina of time when i was little...good times good times

i was going to pick Galaxy 2 but the option was not there so i went with Galaxy. in general i prefer the Galaxy games over the other 3d Marios. as for 2D i would go for Super mario bros 3

All the old school 2D Mario games are way too hard for me, I suck at them. Get hit once and you die, time a jump wrong and you die, don't pay close enough attention and you die. Don't get me wrong, they are fun, but I just don't have enough patience to play them. I like Super Mario Galaxy. It was mostly easy, but that's okay, at least it wasn't too hard.

I voted SMB3. I guess I'm a weirdo and a freak, because I really liked SMB2 and Sunshine :P

Super Mario Bros 3 was sheer perfection. Plus it was the very first video game that I played (not including tetris), so yeah, I'm kind of biased.
