"He just told a room full of reporters that the only reason gamers must play as multi-colored versions of Toad instead of Peach or other beloved Mushroom Kingdom characters is because Toad has the same body shape as Mario and it was simply easier for Nintendo to recycle him."

Oh please, that's just dumb. They wanted all characters to have the same mechanics, so they went with Toads because it feels more natural. It's a design decision, and a legitimate one. I bet it would feel very out of place if peach controlled just like Mario.

And about NPC, I mean, everyone wanted that. Of course they released more of those than new games, because it's a lot faster, but really, they didn't favor the old games instead of the new ones, so it's a really dumb complaint in my opinion.

It is incredible how nintendo fanboys really have the power to defend every thing nintendo does, no matter how good or bad.

Make Majin-tenshinhan words mine.

Also, it's incredible how everyone bashing at Nintendo and anyone who defends it will simply say we're wrong, with no argumentation whatsoever.

He thinks NSMBWii plays exactly like the DS version? Has he played the game? The flick to spin changes the entire game on its own. The new power-ups make it entirely unique. How on Earth can someone think it handles the same? It is like saying SMW plays the same as SMB3. On a certain level it is true, but that all changes when you actually start trying to perform the more advanced tricks.

Yeah, but then they'd have to actually be good at the games.

(btw, how do I quote two posts in a single post, so that I don't have to double-post?)

Look, we´re done with argumentation.

Nintendo situation is terrible... for gamers.

For people that play games only in holydays, maybe its the dream machine.

But for us? Regular gamers? Anyone that says its totally happy with it is lying.

Nintendo really needs a kick in the balls to get its game straight

And fanboys... really... you dont have to defend every little thing nintendo does!

Its the true: Nintendo does a lot of stupid stuff too! A LOT! The Wii can really lead the industry to another "video game crash", just on the amount of shovelware (3rd AND FIRST PARTY SHOVELWARE) its unleashing on the market

Understand this. Understand your responsability on this. If we dont take a stand on this, our favorite pastime will be gone in two years. All that will be left will be the cell phone and facebook games

PS: and here´s more from the best scene of The Nutty Professor

Thanks for your enlightenment oh voice of truth.

Really, you either tell me why exactly are two Toads a big deal and NPC a bad thing, or stop calling me the blind fanboy. Your choice.

The way I do it is with some forum code. [.quote] Stuff goes here[./quote] minus a couple of periods works well.

This is an example of what it will look like

Quoting this reply should show you exactly how it looks. I think there is a button in the rich text reply for it, but I never really bothered to check.

Oh, I get it. It's actually quite easy, I should have guessed this one. Anyway, thanks for helping.

Im not the voice of truth. Im just the 8.982.635º one to say this

Check this:

Nintendo showed developers and publishers alike that its possible to make small, cheap, lame games and make a profit out of each one of them.

That is possible to make games with minimum effort and quality, and yet still have profit

And that´s what publishers have been doing for the past 3 years. Releasing small cheap games for the Wii. They complain, but they keep shoving the market with the same type of games.

The wii can handle this because they have an expanded audience, gathered around because of the acessibility of motion controls

Activision just released Modern Warfare 2 for the HD consoles. It sold 6 million copies in one month. Its A LOT! Its a MAJOR HIT! However, the game also cost A LOT in development, and took A LOT of time to get done.

Next year, PS3 and 360 will also have motion controls too. The goal here is obviouslly the same expanded audience the Wii have right now.

So all major consoles will have the expanded audience on its hands. And all publishers will chase the same objective as nintendo and wii´s 3rd partys have these days: "Make smaller, cheaper, lamer games. Release more games per year. Have more profit in a shorter amount of time."

And that will lead to a new videogame crash, because consumers will be fed up with shovelware in no time! Just like in 1984!!! Only thing that will last will be facebook games, because they´re free and social, and cellphone games, because they´re cheap and mobile.

Look, i dont want to insult nobody, but fanboys really live in a world of them own. They just ignore everything its happening around to scream "nooooooooo... you´re wrooooooooooong..... NSMB its the most innovative game of all tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimeee..."

It isnt. Its a copy of new super mario bros DS. This can look somehow like a nice idea now, but it wont be in the future.

And remember: its not just me. A LOT of people can see all this happening. To tell you the truth, only real nintendo fanboys ignore this whole situation

I have 25ish games on the Wii and plenty I would love to get, but lack the funds. To claim it is a dire situation is strictly hyperbole. Hell, I just got what is arguably the best 2D Mario platformer ever. Think about that statement for a second, and then understand the implications. I don't love everyone of the games they release, but thats why I play third party games as well!

And if you genuinely think the Wii can lead to another video game crash then you have no clue what you are talking about. The crash of the mid-eighties was brought about by a number of factors entirely absent from this generation. It is really sad to see people trying to throw it out there and have someone take them seriously. When games are released that are, literally, unplayable on the machine then we can talk. As of right now they all can be played, and either enjoyed or loathed as appropriate.

Gnizmo, don't even bother. Just look at his latest post and then try to regain the brain cells one loses from reading it's content. It's no use.

Also to add to this.

you say Nintendo need a kick in the balls to get their game straight. That is fine. but what exactly do you want from them?

No matter what they do people are always unpleased.

This has been said 100 times already

N64:

- 3rd parties complained about how hard it was to get a game on the system because of quality control being too high of a standard.

- fan complained about lack of 3rd party games.

Gamecube:

- 3rd parties said we do not want to develope because we cannot compete with Nintendo software.

Wii:

- Nintendo takes a break to ALLOW for 3rd party software (even Reggie said giving them a window to do so).

- 3rd parties release crap games then blame wii for poor sales. when they dont even bring AAA titles or advertising budgets. Most the decent 3rd party games can ony be baught online as stores don't stock them.

- fans bitch about bring back quality control.

So from all this tell me WHAT DO THEY NEED TO DO?

personally i would love if it was just Nintendo games only but that would mean WAY less hardware sales and less games. Can you accept that?
