Forums - Microsoft - Why Xbox 360 is losing appeal to new customers.

European tastes are very different from US tastes, you can't mix both.

That's why the PS3 sells more than the 360 here in Europe while the arcade model costs 120 euros and a PS3 249 euros, quite an achievement if you think about it...

Europeans love japanese games. Shooters are less popular than in the US too.

Only recently has the PS3 outsold the 360 here and not by much so try not to mislead everyone it into thinking it's always been like that or even most of the time.

Stop this falsity that the 360 is only for shooters and has no variety as well. You've said this before. You are just causing trouble and spreading lies you know to be false or you really are that ignorant.

Also the 360 actually cost more right. I mean people like you go round saying us 360 owners HAVE to buy wireless or arcade owners HAVE to buy a HDD. Also don't forget live. Or do you only go down that route when it suits you? Hey Sony told you the true cost of each console so you know the 360 cost more as you must spread their word for they command it. Oh and well done for deliberately taking the cheapest 360 price and pitting it against the PS3 like thats the only SKU that sells. I wouldn't be surprised if you put up the most expensive PS3 price as well.

Stop causing trouble. You have a PS3 and I hear it has a game on it worth playing now so go play it.

"The US has the most impartial market in the world."

Thanks for the laugh.

We barely support our own nations goods. Our rich support European cars, our middle class Support Japanese cars and Electronics. Really dude...are you serious?

The US are one of the most patriotic countries in the world, you must be very young or naive to ignore that.

Never seen people singing your national anthem with the hand on the heart ? Or the things your professional sport players say about the US ? Or how your government saved GM and Boeing single handedly with desperate protectionist measures ? Or how you were easily foolishly convinced to attack Iraq because you were supposedly 'under attack' while this nation had nothing to do with terrorism whatsoever ?

Please don't make me laugh. The US - while I like this country a lot for other reasons (like inventions...) - are maybe the most stupid nation in the world when it comes to customer habits and nationalism. You've been brainwashed by your medias long ago.

It's offtopic anyway.

The thread title is "Why Xbox 360 is losing appeal to new customers."

Feel free to contribute.

you really shouldn't get into the Iraq argument at all... you know a fraction of a fraction of the truth... As for the Xbox 360 losing customers... it's not... it's simply reached it's next milestone in sales in this economy.  I'm thinking that right now the real "Mass Market Price" is 150 bucks.

Yes, European and American tastes are so vastly different that their software charts are practically interchangeable.

Have to say Cueil unless you know the whole truth about Iraq you can't tell someone not to talk about it as they don't know the whole truth.
Bit of a double standard.
But that's off-topic and we shouldn't get into the Iraq argument as it has no place here.

@badgenome : no they're not at all the same, there are major differences.

In Europe PS3 sold roughly the same as the 360, in the US 360 sold a lot more until now.

In Europe Gran Turismo sells huge, in the US a lot less...

Call of Duty sells a lot more in the US than in Europe (millions more).

Only a few examples...

Now of course there are similarities too.

@mario64: Do you know what the word "practically" means? There are differences in positions and platforms, yes, but aside from sports games, the lists are, in fact, practically interchangeable.

@mario65 (I do like you, I use a random name) : No they're not, see examples above.

Or why is the 360 dominating the US while PS3 has roughly the same installed base than 360 in Europe if our tastes are the same ? Strange hu ?

It's not such a random name...

Anyway, Playstation is a stronger brand in Europe, but the two systems have more or less interchangeable line-ups. Your assertion that "Europeans love Japanese games and not shooters!" is not borne out by sales data or anything else other than your own imaginings.

@mario64: I like how you replied to him still and you knew he was talking about you. You must really be mario64, then, huh?

OT: The 360 is dominating the US because of many factors. Mostly price, advertising, and friend appeal.

I'm European and I love shooters and don't care for Japanese games.
