Why would it do better on a smaller userbase? Especially since NA 360 owners arent that into JRPG's so I'd argue the userbase is worse than it actually appears to be... and that takes me into my second point which is JRPGs are becoming niche. So even though the Ps3 users are more interested in them than the 360 user base I'd still say Ps3 owners arent as interested as people were 5-10 years ago.

You expect Ps3 version to sell better... so obvious the 9 million lead the 360 has wont mean much. And combined Ps3 360 sales will still be less then Ps2's.

I don't think userbase affects that much sales of specifics titles. Sure it affect total sales, but not for especific games. Like FFX was released in a 5 million userbase in japan and sold 2 million first week, FF XII released in a 20 million userbase and sold 1.8 million. GTA, MGS4, Need for Speed,Fifa,Madden, and a dozen of franchises proved that userbase don't mean much for specific titles sales, I would say that specific games affect userbase more than userbase affect specific games.

And about FFXIII, i say 2 things, if the game really live up all the hype(mainly from Darth), it will have great word of mouth.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

MGS4 sold much less tham MGS and MGS2. Most series see their sales decline after repeated iterations on the same platform: MotorStorm, Resistance, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, etc. A few series seem to be exempt: Halo, GTA, CoD, and soon Uncharted. These series do seem to have excellent sequels.

MGS2, apparently, left quite a sour taste in people's mouths, and MGS3 was the sugar that got rid of that taste. Furthermore, MGS4 got a HELL of a lot of advertising and support from Sony, and fantastic reviews and awards convinced even those new to the series to give this one a try.

FFXII, in this case, seems to have been the sour-taste-leaver, looking at the general opinion of the game.

Youre right it is the end of the arguement. It still hasn't outsold MGS3. Thanks for proving my point.

I never wanted to bring it up before because I didnt want the 360 users a reason to troll.

Yes it has, unless you're counting Subsistence, which isn't really fair because MGS4 hasn't had a re-release.

I can't see FFXIII doing 2mil LTD in Americas on the PS3, ioi, but thanks for the overall picture.

I don't think it can manage 10mil LTD across both platforms either.

Its been a year and 3/4ths and Kojima is hard at work with Rising and Peace Walker... will there ever be a re-release?

God of War is picking up in a big way becuase the demo codes are out now. MAG is slowing down because the beta codes are all gone. We haven't seen too many big pre-order bonuses for any of the others yet.

They have yet to even announce a pre-order bonus for Final Fantasy XIII.

Well they are only estimates. I expect it to perform significantly better in the west than FF XII (even without the two skus) and slightly worse in Japan. We'll see thought...

and about Gran Turismo 5?

Unless the preorder bonus is a copy of Hokuto Musou, FFXIII won't sell squat.
