San Andreas, FF IX and Dragon Quest 8 are included. FFX isn't. This list gets the auto-bullshit treatment from me.

Missed the point. There was no 0000 AD. It started with 0001 AD. This means the current century didn't really start until 2001, which means the current decade doesn't end till 2010. |
So why were all those people celebrating the turn of the millenium December 31 1999? I know what you mean, but this is the way it usually works. When talking decades, the 80's is 1980-1989, the 90's is 1990-1999 etc.
@ Xen
1 game per series.

That's true. Many people don't actually understand the way years count. The first year of a new century is the year beginning with one, not the year beginning with zero. It's not my fault the media doesn't even have a basic understanding of history.

People celebrated the millenium on January 1st, 2000 because they are idiots. Whether the masses beleive it or not does not make it true.

The millenium began in 2001, the decade does not end until 2010. Professional media shouldn't make this mistake, but sadly they do.

Aw, I dislike FF IX and LOVE FFX, that is why I'm giving it that treatment lol.
At least SoTC and VC are there.
On the topic of the list, it's pretty good (aside from missing all the games next year that might have beaten the games this year like SMG2 or FFXIII). FFIX is still my favorite FF game so I'm cool with that.

The abscence of Manhunt 2 from this list is appalling.

This is quiete decent list actualy, the first one with which I can mostly agree.
MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising
I don't like lists of this kind, I never feel like I've played enough games to comment on them
a good list imo
of course, I don't agree with everything (no baldur's gate ? no planescape torment ?), but that's fine.
Some surprises though, the number 8 for example (great game but... in the top ten of the decade ?)
