This is weird, I was one month in the USA (NY) and I can't remember those taxes.....

So you see something for 35 $. But then you have to pay 38$ at the check-out?

Depends on what you're buying and where. If, say, you were in NYC buying a stickered $90 pair of jeans, I'd call you insane for paying that much, but you'd pay $90 at the checkout. Conversely, if you bought a stickered $90 electronic device, you'd pay $97.76 at checkout. (That is, assuming the tax in NYC's not changed.)

Wal-mart, Save Money,Live Better- This is utter BS. Maybe on food but Amazon owns walmart in prices on video games.
