Javelin glitch users to be suspended from Xbox Live

Director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox LIVE Stephen Toulouse has stated that anybody using the Javelin Glitch in Modern Warfare 2

will be suspended.

On his twitter page, Toulouse posted;

"While IW works on getting the MW2 glitch fixed, people we catch using it will recieve suspensions from LIVE. Play fair everyone. :>"

"For those asking, it's not new that we issue suspensions for cheating/glitching, and we do it for more then just MW2. :>"

Microsoft recently banned 360 users for having modded consoles and caused a lot of controversy,

with gamers threatening to change platforms.

Update

Toulouse has since revealed how long the suspensions will be;

"For those asking, cheating suspensions are usually 24 hours for first offense. But egregious cheating can be 2 weeks!"

Whats the "Javelin Glitch" ?

the javelin glitch is a mash of a few buttons and now you have a javelin sized martydom...but you are restricted to only knife kills

wierd... Oh well i dont like MW2 anyways so i dont have to worry about that.

OT: i agree ban these people if they cant play by the rules then we dont want them

Good to hear cheaters are getting banned, they ruin the fun for everyone else.

How about they just patch the game!?

Seems really wrong to start doing this.

And once they start they're gonna have to start doing it for everything. FIFA09's dream team glitch springs to mind.

But I really don't see why it's the user that suffers and not the developer. If they didn't release games with these glitches in, people wouldn't be able to use them. And to start banning people for using stuff left in there by developers just seems wrong.

ok cool but what about players who come across the glitch by accident?
Someone had to find it accidentally initially, now anyone who has the same "luck" gets suspended for it?

I heard theres going to be a patch by this weekend by a lot of users but have no link to back up. I hope they fix the other things like in the Afghan stage where you can hide in a rock. Theres also a infinite emergency air drop glitch and some glitch where a guy can run real fast using one of the turrents.

lol, I love how they ban user for a game's mistake. Did the users ask for the game to have a glitch?

What's next, Banning people for their own sexual preference???
