Forums - Nintendo - Will Tales of Graces outsell Tales of Vesperia (PS3) in Japan?

I really wish for ToG to be the first 500k+ Tales game in a long while but that would be very difficult :(

Forum campers will know. Everyone else will just look at it as a quality RPG.

I think it will actually say which console is more appropriate and welcoming for the Genre. PS3 or the Wii. Its going to be an interesting battle. But as it stands PS3s JRPGs sales> Wiis..IIRC

Not quite...the best selling JRPG this gen in Japan is DQ Swords...excluding MH3 if you don't consider it as such.

We don't really have a game that decides whether the Wii or PS3 is feasible. There are RPGs on the Wii and PS3 did badly and some that did good. I'd say both are feasible.

Let's hope that's enough for the general consumer, then. I'd be very sad if Graces doesn't perform well in Japan.

It would be Namco's own damn fault putting it up against FF13. They do something right with the series for once and then make a boneheaded move like that.

Ill agree to that

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Rebirth was released around 2-3 weeks after DQ VIII.

Abyss had it bad too, October 10th, with FF XII releasing October 31st. (this was in US, but that doesn't make it less stupid)
