Forums - Sales - Nintendo SELLS 550K Wii & 1 Million DS during BF Week!!!!

Well, we also have to keep in mind that these numbers aren't necessarily any more definitive than VGChartz's numbers. Nintendo is going to have the same problems as NPD and VGChartz during this season, and their shipment numbers will be what end up telling the story come March

I didn't say its catatastrophic

Its not good though

The real question is are PS360 numbers also overtracked

or is PS3 overtracked & 360 undertracked

or are they actually pretty accurate

Who knows, but on a tumultuous week like this, I wouldn't put my faith in vgchartz' early estimates.

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

It's very weak for Wii. After both a price cut, and the release of new highly appealing software (WSR has sold how many millions now?), it's still way down YoY. It's much easier to kill enthusiasm than to create it.

mhm.. NSMB, a price cut, and down by 250K in the U.S? =s

They have more resources than vgchartz for this sort of thing, and they are more likely to get Walmart numbers (since they are their biggest customer they're likely on good terms). Of course, neither are perfect, and vgchartz has other advantages.

Right, I agree that Nintendo is more likely to be correct, but neither of these sets of numbers are really "official". We won't know the "official" numbers until we see financial reports.

amazing DS sales numbers. ds owns all. i don't why people are tripping over wii sales, it didn't have any deals, it never does so people probably didn't see much reason to hold off on buying it untill black friday unlike ps3 and 360

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I really want to see how everything ends up.

Can't wait for final numbers for all console makers.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Those saying that VGChartz' numbers include Canada and Mexico, while it may be true, it doesn't sound like it.

VGChartz said in their BF article:

Nintendo sold nearly 800,000 Wii units and 850,000 DS units in the Americas during the week ending 28th November - pretty much exactly the same as last year.

The Wii sold about 800.000 units is the US alone in 2008, so if these numbers are for NA, they're not pretty much exactly the same. If they are for the US alone, something isn't right.
