Modern Warfare 2, I think it has a place in many wishlists across the globe, not to mention that it is a multiplat title compared to both NSMBWii and FF13 (exclusive to PS3 in Japan).

and then the others. i really wanted to say final fantasy xiii but i figured since this market is driven based on mainstream and the casual audience, new super mario bros. wii has a significant advantage. as far as call of duty modern warfare 2 is concerned it will continue to dominate but it will not take or beat new super mario bros. wii with what this game can produce through the weeks and months.

this sounds about right.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I see NSMBWii easily. It still has the Japanese launch numbers to post for the month. Modern Warfare 2 saw most of its sales already in November (though it will still do well in December), and FF13 only gets 2 weeks in 1 region. Wii Fit Plus will see decent sales with the rest, but no launch period will give it the downside of not having a release boost; same goes for Assassin's Creed 2.
Overall, here's how I'm guessing things will be worldwide for December:
NSMBWii- 7m
MW2- 4m
FF13- 1.4m
WF+- 3.5m
AC2- 2.6m
