Forums - Nintendo - if nintendo stopped making consoles....

I think that Mario would be exclusive to Sony and Link would be exclusive to microsoft. They would make all their games as mostly downloadable and they would be third party for all consoles, mobile devices, and handhelds.

Neither.

NO, the computer is not an option, thats not even a console!! -laughs-

Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

if nintendo gets brought out by sony or microsoft i will go where nitendo goes, and its hard to buy nintendo since there an very expensive company to buy

Yeah, Microsoft tried to buy them in the middle of the last generation.  Iwata basically told them, in the nicest possible way, where they could stuff it.

If Microsoft can't afford Nintendo, noone can.

no way. do you have a source?

Didn't anyone else say this? They'd leave gaming.

Nintendo is an integrated hardware and software company, they wouldn't produce one without the other. They'd start selling bathroom scales or something, and no more games. It's been set clear as day, Nintendo is in the business of hardware integrated with software. If they can't do that in gaming, than all their franchises will be retired. This has been made VERY clear already, back when Nintendo wasn't doing so well at that. So stop dreaming.

A more appropriate question would be, what if Sony and Microsoft stopped making consoles.

He overstates the case, but it was definitely interested once upon a time.

They'd stop making games. They make hardware for their software.. not making software for other hardware.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Hm, I thought it was a bit more aggressive than that, and that it was after Iwata became president.

*shrug*

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

On second thought, if they stopped making consoles, they'd still make handhelds.

Also, if they stopped making consoles and handhelds, they could go back to making cards and love devices.
