The problem with the Wii in Japan is really that many people have it already.

The DS has multiple per household advantage, and also duplicated ownership based on multiple versions. Right now there's only one Wii(not counting colors), so who knows? I think software could get a bigger boost, but until Nintendo offers something new out of the system, could be a redesign of some sort, or a small change like taking out the external power supply, then I'm not holding my breath over massive sales for a while.

NSMB DS caused a large jump in DS sales the week it came out, and NSMB Wii is expected to sell around 3 times as much as Galaxy in its first week

I'll reserve judgement on this one till I see where preorders are in the Japan preview. Although I think people underestimate the number of Mario fans already on the Wii, especially with the sales of MKWii. That game has moved not quite half as much in Japan as NSMBDS with less than 1/3 the install base. I can see 100k though, maybe 125k with Samurai Warriors.
