online coop no question for me.

How about BOTH??

I don't see why anyone would say "Oh, since we have one... why is there a need for another"???

I prefer split screen, I'd rather have someone next to me playing.

Much prefer split-screen. It's much better having mates round with beer and pizza and just generally having multiplayer madness. It's a lot more fun to actually see people's reactions when you blow them up with an RPG :P

its def. best to have both, but which is preferred is the topic ^_^

Preferably both, but if I can only have one it would be split screen.

My biggest complaint this gen is removing local play for online-only play.

Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)
Mobile - Yugioh Duel Links (2017)
Mobile - Super Mario Run (2017)
PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

split screen is by far the best in my opinion.

Just having your friends with you having a laugh and a joke, drinking. It is classic.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

It does suck when a game only supports online and a friend is over.

Local multiplayer is always better for me. Online is great in addition to local, but local is ALWAYS more fun. That's not to say the two can't be done together, Resistance 2 is awesome for allowing splitscreen in online play.

What about local system link co-op?

AGREED

That's even better than split screen.

I know some people were all like "w/e I don't care about System link" when it was taken out of The Conduit, that alone could make it a worthy purchase especially having no wires making System link even easier.  I like playing like that much more than splitscreen or online since you're getting the best of all worlds.

OT: If I have to pick one or the other and not system link it'd be splitscreen with the exception being the games I destroy people at then I'm just hated for being good with my friends and I would rather play online :P
