If you have surround sound then you can tell the difference. |
That doesn't make any sense. Just because you have more sound channels, doesn't make the quality any more noticeable. Each audio channel is compressed separately.
There are tons of double-blind tests where most people were unable to tell the difference (assuming well compressed audio at a high bitrate). For example:

How exactly did you conclude that?
And what does an HDTV have to do with sound quality?

SDtvs doesn't show the sound quality well.
for this case if you play lets say , the original Battlefield and then went on to play the beta you would see the difference. BC1 have alot better sound quality.
the sound DOES make a difference and a big one that is.
Sorry darth for bringing some facts into the thread :P
Regarding the other stuff you mentioned, my predictions about Sony are all looking pretty good:

You can't conclude that from comparing different games. There's a lot of stuff which is more important for quality than bitrate. For one thing it's possible the sounds in the beta hadn't been mastered yet... as preliminary versions of music albums usually aren't.

im not talking about the music in the beta, im talking about the sound effects they compressed them because its a downloadable beta, but when its on BD/HDDVD/DVD its uncompressed it sounds better
