If you're only experiencing this with AC2, Naz, it's likely to be a game problem.

Confirmed to only effect AC2 after the update. I've got plenty of sources of this being a firmware issue.

Play AC2 and get 4 kills within a couple seconds with the hidden blade. Knocks it out every time, without fail, regardless of what kind of console you are using. Modern Warfare 2 also freezes sometimes, but I can't find a specific trigger for it.

Edit: MW2 has patched it out now I guess.

I have done that without problem, maybe even more than that. I had about 10 guards stunned (going for the no-hitter trophy) and quickly assassinated as many as I could before dropping another smoke bomb, which is actually really useful in combat as well as escaping. Maybe it is something to do with the disc, or mabye me being Europe affects it?

@ sabby, try off peak hours, that error is due to overloading of servers

Well, I have no intention of buying ACII, so I'm okay for now

Any other games this is happening in?

Also, what Burning Typhoon said. Hold down the front power button until it beeps, after ~10 seconds. NEVER turn off from the main power switch unless your PS3 is already on standby.

Uncharted 2, also heard Modern Warfare 2 though I haven't had that happen to me personally.

I've played through Uncharted 2 twice pre-update, and once post-update. No crashes, except for once on my first playthrough, but it was triggered by a specific action in the game, in Chapter 25, so I just didn't do it the other two times.

It could be online-only. I haven't played Uncharted 2 online in months.

EDIT: Wait, it's only been out for a month and a half. I haven't played online post-3.10, anyway.

Seems to be very specific actions that cause the freezes. Perhaps a certain thing that pushes more processing into the system and maybe the firmware update uses up more system memory than usual. I've heard signing out of PSN can stop the freezing, so it's possible this is the case.

Since 3.10, I have played Modern Warfare 2, AC II, DAO and FIFA 10 all without problems

Haven't experienced any problems on my 60GB, but I haven't been playing any AC2.

Just pure Borderlands awesomeness.

Been having frequent freezing issues with my slim but only in regards to the browser, mainly when I shut the app down. No in game freezes yet, knock on wood. I probably should have kept my fat PS3 where I was able to avoid dling 3.10, but such is life.
