Do not upgrade. Through numerous forums I've found people who haven't upgraded don't get the freezing at all, and people who have upgraded will always get it under certain conditions (such as the Assassin's Creed II condition I listed above). Wait till 3.11 when hopefully the freezing is fixed.

Yea, mine always freezes up, but if I leave it for a while it usually un-freezes.

My slim doesn't freeze though and my 60 gig freezes as well.

@ sabby, I assume you are getting an error code ending in A07, or something like that? Apparently it is just due to overloading of the servers, partially due to Modern Warfare 2 bringing loads of gamers back on to PSN, just keep on trying and it will work

Yeah, I get an error like that, and I've had this problem for over 1 week. At one time i tried to sync the trophies 10 times but gave up because it would'nt work.

After updating my slim to 3.10, I've had some severe slow-down and one instance of complete freeze in Prince of Persia. That was the only game/DVD/Blu-ray that has been effected, and I've watched several movies since updating.

I have a refurb 60GB and it hasn't frozen in months. I've updated to 3.10 and the GOW Collection is running fine (so far), heard that was having freezing issues too.

I updated, and it hasn't frozen once.

What I've played since the update:

-Uncharted 2
-BC2 Beta
-Fat Princess
-Trine demo
-GoW3 demo
-LBP

All of them ran fine.

Make sure your PS3 has plenty of ventilation and isn't left on for long periods of time when not being used. What model PS3 do you have? The 60GB launch models tend to be troublesome with some updates. Back up your saved data just in case.

Facebook status updates and coloured PSN profiles. Nothing great.

If you're only experiencing this with AC2, Naz, it's likely to be a game problem.
