I was just reading this thread and ever since leo j's first post in this thread there was a discussion about ps3 having the best line-up for the two years and many other ps3 defenders(some were fanboys) said about reviews given to ps3 games as an more AAA titles well i want to just say that reviews don't count so much maybe like 20% user reviews count the most the other 80% why well reviews are given by one person while user reviews are opinions of gamers who play every day.. They are the ones who try and beat every little thing out of the game and so that point shows that wii has had a better line-up...

For Example commparing the two most anticipated titles this year..

New Super Mario Bros Wii: Average Aggregate Score: 89 User Review: 9.3 (93/100) Average: 91

Modern Warfare (360): Average Aggregate Score: 93.7 User Review: 5.9 (59/100) Average: 76.35

Modern Warfare (PS3): Average Aggregate Score: 93.95 User Review: 5.3 (53/100) Average: 73.47

The Average Aggregate Score was take by averaging out the score from both Aggregators, Game Rankings and Metacritic.

So as you can see NSMBWii was pretty close to where MW2(both platforms) are for aggregate scores but MW2 is nowhere as close to nsmbwii in user reviews or average score user plus aggregate score....

This shows that just because a game gets high reviews from the reviewer its good..it needs to be accpeted by users as well..

Instead of looking at user reviews for MW2 (ravaged by PC fans because of the PC version)

Go compare the scores with Uncharted 2.

PS3 can beat Wii regularly next yr if

1. Sony Marketing team keep advertising PS3 sensibly n give more exposure to exclusive games with quality advertisment in quantity..
2. Sony Wand is launched with decent amount of 1st Party n 3rd party QUALITY games, which keep the interest high
3. Sony GT, GOW, TM, JnD n other franchises launch with a big bang without further delays..

Thats interesting statement.I think its more like music business with Wii...Everyone basicly hates Britney Spears/Madonna but it still sells millions.

 

Yes I didin't mean Wii/Xbox 360 has only 1-3 good titles coming, just meant it like 30 to 6 or etc.

Ps3 just has more.

Nintendo games (including the Wii) dominate the all time best sellers, and they get this way by selling over long periods of time. This somewhat mirrors the best selling music albums of all time - take a look. It includes albums from Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Eagles and such.

The albums that sell like the front-loaded games of HD consoles are on the bottom. See Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Madonna.

Eat it! (... tbh, I don't know how those albums sold)

... On topic, not a chance. Consoles in Japan are an entirely different story. Besides, there's no way in hell the PS3 can catch the Wii in that region, either. The fact is, the PS3 is built on older gamers (PS1-PS2 gen), while the Wii is not. I don't see this changing - Sony has yet to show any software that shows us otherwise.

Just enjoy your console, as long as Sony sticks around there's hope (for you) in future gens.

User reviews?No they don't matter,thats why I don't care Vgchartz reviews that much.But if you hear your friend saying its awesome you know its awesome.And if I hear many people here saying that its awesome I at least try it.

Yup. Sony Wand might flop big time and Natal might turn out to be a big hit which gives back MS the momentum and make PS3 get outsold by 360 on a weekly basis again. We are talking about possibilities, right?



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I really hate the term "HD twins"
I would find it hard to see people using the term if they owned both Video game consoles this generation.

I think it would be possible for the PS3 to beat the wii on weekly sales near the end of this generation.

The problem is marketing, I hear non gamers talk about the wii, yet they still dont know or care about the PS3.
But Sony is and always has been a gaming company and I am not sure if they are about to "change" in order to attract non gamers anytime soon.

The question is, will all of the wii owners in the world become gamers because of owning the wii.
If and when they do, the PS3 will be there waiting.
