you are expecting way too much from PS3 games.

BUT I B3LIEVE!!!

I think God of War will sell 1.5M it's first week, and about 2.5-4M it's first year! I think this game will push more hardware than uncharted 2.

FTR my prediction is,

Uncharted 2 - 4.5 million LTD
God of War III - 4 million LTD

To anyone thinking I'm overestimating U2, compare it to the first Assassins Creed on PS3 which released on a much smaller user base. That game went on to sell 3.5 million and it had mixed word of mouth. U2 has great word of mouth and a bigger user base.

I just did a bit of research.

Part of the reason previous God of War installments didn't sell as well in Others as they did in America is due to the fact that their releases came long after the US releases.

GoW was released a whole 3-4 months later in Europe, and GoW2 was released a month and a half after the American release.

That hurts sales as hype had already died down by the time GoW hit shelves in Europe. Now with Europe being PS3's biggest market, will Sony shoot themselves in the foot and release this months later than the American version or will they smarten up and release it within the same week.


That's what it's going to come down to. No doubt GoW3 will do great sales in America but if they can get it out in Europe at the same time, it should do great sales in Others as well (unlike the previous GoW games) and beat out Uncharted 2

Lifetime, I'm not sure but I expect U2 to have the bigger opening week. Mainly because of the numerous games releasing Q1/2.

From 4 months down to 1.5 months.

I'm 90% sure GoW3 is a worldwide March 2010 release.

GAME has it set for 19th March 2010.

Kantor, hopefully it is a Worldwide release.

That's absolutely vital for it's sales. Especially with Europe being such a big market for PS3.
