Forums - Sales - IGN: PSPGo Falters in Japan

.... It's a higher priced late model the functions differently from what was launched there 4+ years ago but is still the same thing... What did you guys expect?

Un frotunatly the handheld should have launched at a sub 200$ price... too bad, it could have been something big, Im still hoping that a pricecut could have a massive impact on the sales

IGN posted an article about PSPGo performance in Japan.

November 20, 2009 - The latest Media Create sales charts paint a mixed picture for Sony's portable gaming efforts. While the week covering 11/9 to 11/15 saw the PSP grab the top software spot, it also saw the PSP go descend into the depths of four digit sales stagnation.

Well .. Is this experiment a success or not?

I don't get it, why base a thread on IGN's Wii staff's interpretation of numbers which we already have, numbers which we've even debated to death? Is their input really that qualified?

It definitly didn't go down well in japan. I think it could still do ok in the west but needs a price cut. Is there any psp go numbers so far for NA and EU?

Proablly wont get that till February 15th when Sony posts quarterly financials

They might sugar coat it, by saying psp sold this much and leave out psp go numbers.

@Also for those who say this was expected, I remember hearing some people say it would do good in Japan, because Japanese love new technology.
