I think the Top Gear point is very good.
Top Gear is a very popular show around the world and already has featured Gran Turismo products on it before. I think the show will definitely get the word out about GT5 and the Top Gear Test Track as well as Stig times being in the game. And as a result sales in Europe will be absolutely massive.
And just because of Europe I think the GT5 will have the potential to have a better first week than any other exclusive game this generation.
Also keep in mind, that by the time GT5 releases globally the PS3 userbase should be somewhere between 35-40 million, maybe more.
20M is actually 33% from 60M, not 85%.
2009 - 30M+
2010 - 40M+ and 10M GT5
2011 - 50M+ and 5M GT5
2012 - 60M+ and 2M GT5
I expect GT6 to come only somewhere in 2012.

My math might be a little off, probably closer to a 75% attach rate really, but still do you really think its likely to reach 20 million?

Right now its at 26 million, I think 60 million is out of the realm of possibility

I just want to ask. Why do you think this?
PS3 sales have increased with every year it has been available. Next year is its biggest and best software lineup. Sales are likely to increase AGAIN.
60 million is very possible by the end of its lifetime.
