what i dont understand is if you dont like the wii why have you bought 33 games for it?

Good question ... working = money to waste ... ive actually got about 35 - 36 now, should update my list

i kept buying games cos i was getting bored/finished the previous games ... sadly, prob 25 of those games were not worth the purchase

you could have used that money for a 360 or PS3 games. there must be something that makes you keep buying those games

Haha, yea. Seems like something rol would think up to say.

Is this Viewtiful Mind guy an aka, Rol?

This does seem like a straw man arguement.

Perhaps Rol sets up these sources to make everyone look bad?

I approve of this thread.

To be honest, if Nintendo stays on their current path I won't be buying their next system, which honestly feels weird to even think about, I've always owned a Nintendo. I loved the first 1.5 years of my Wii, but ever since? Eh... it's been okay but not a blast.

I'm in the same boat, I want my StarFox/DonkeyKong/Kirby not some more shovel ware or Wii franchise games. WiiSportsResort , WiiMusic, WiiFit etc...etc... where are my franchise games?

But I can honestly say I'll still be pre-ordering the next Nintendo console. Sitting out in the freezing cold all night to be one of the first to bring home the next console and play on it. Sure the Wii isn't my primary console like all Nintendo consoles in the past have been but its the only place I can play my favorite franchises. Sure many of my favorite franchises haven't made it to the Wii but the ones that have made the Wii worth owning to me.

Now if the next console doesn't have a big franchise title within the launch window, Instead giving us another casual line-up then and only then will I debate not picking up Nintendo's next console. But if Mario/Link/DonkeyKong/Fox or Kirby are seen launch day then I will once again blow the little money I have on the next Nintendo console!

I'm holding out hope for an awesome Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and Zelda still. Nintendo still has plenty of time to change my mind and convince me to get their next system, they've just gotta wow me with new content.

you know rol... youre read this part reminded me of a certain blorge I use to read... also I loled when he said Nintendo responded... Nintendo didnt respond anything! they say there not in this console war showdown... they dont want to fight MICROSOFT and SONY at hardcore and mature titles... And probably Nintendo will be in a worse state if they did that...

Nintendo didn't want to fight 360 and PS3. But Sony and Microsoft want to fight Nintendo. I mean Nintendo's casual BlueOcean strategy has shipped millions of units and even more software. Yes Nintendo hasn't been supporting its most loyal fans who have stuck by them since day one but they certainly aren't taking any sales flack for it.

But Microsoft and Sony want a piece of Nintendo's action. They will be competing again by next fall. The bad thing for Nintendo is they've invested everything in the casual market and if by some chance next gen Sony or Microsoft steal that casual market, Nintendo won't have its backbone left (Hardcore fans).

Nintendo needs to decide who to support the casual gamers or the starving fans waiting to be wowed by the next Donkey Kong or StarFox.

I dont know... I mean Nintendo just released nsmbwii so we'll have to wait to see what the impact is... if its a huge sucess then they'll probably release their games in schedule and not release anything new (maybe)...

But if it fails Ninty has to act fast pumping out prehipels, games, colors, and bundles and that would be the counter attack to Natal AND the sony wand... I think...

To the disappointment of most of the remaining Nintendo fans, there's no online functionality found in NSMB Wii. A feature that should be standard in today's games, leaving it out can only be explained by ridiculous laziness

Ridiculous statement. Most people, me included, don't give a dime about online play in a Jump&Run.

with simple, fun gameplay

The controls of NSMB might be simple to learn but difficult to master. Look at other Holiday games like Modern Warfare 2, that game is simple as hell, the single player is like a rail shooter!

And for the unsubstantiated statement that Nintendo leaving the Core alone, look at 2010: Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid Other M, Dynamic Slash, Endless Ocean 2, Sin & Punishment 2, Cosmic Walker, Monado: The Beginning of a New World etc. etc.
