Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I honestly think Sony's Wand is a bigger threat to Nintendo than Natal

well as all you hardcore gamers believe that wii is a fad and they have fun with their mini games/wii sports for a month then throw it in closet, shouldn't all those people who fell for the "fad" then ignore the "fad" when sony pops it out in a year. Won't they just see it and be like "oh i have that for wii already, and it got boring"

so why would they buy a ps3 for it then?    And all you hardcore gamers hate the wand/remote, and just want to sit on our asses and play with normal controller rigth?  so we won't be buying it.  Sounds like a big flop to me, unless people do indeed like teh wiimote and still play and buy many games.  but that can't be true, nintendo sucks

Talk to me when there's appealing software.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Nintendo couldn't have captured the casual without the dedicated support of the core.

What?

Come on man you don't honestly believe that, do you?

I believe it.

Before the Wii was a media sensation, Zelda was its top launch game. I bought my wii on launch day.

My family saw me playing it, and for the first time, they started to play. I think this is a common story.

ahh? core gamers got behind casual gamers? we never said amything, nintendo just advertised the product that has soccer mums and parents in it then it sold

i'm sorry, but you are completely wrong. the core gamer doesn't have much control on the market.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

you can view a few screenshots from the game in my photo album here; http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=2312

I agree with the fact that a gamer needs controllers.
My parents used to play Street Fighter 2 on Snes and all the Mario Kart...
I never wanted them to play but as long as it is for Mario Kart I'm okay.

The core gamer has a tremendous influence at launch time and has a tremendous influence on getting the word out for new titles.

There have been imitation wii products and they have failed.  Products that only play wii sports.  That cost much less.  I've seen them advertised on TV.

nintendo won't be worried unless sony or microsoft can actually come out with software that's any good.

i don't see that happening honestly. neither company understands what made the wii controls successful (compelling software). neither will have anything in the league of wii sports to showcase their gimmicks, and both will fail.

When NATAL fails because the core rejects it, you'll know I was right. You can quote me on this.
