Yeah the official site listed retail sales for GT5: Prologue at 3,940,000 as of June 2009.

(Not sure if they've thrown DL sales in there too.)

Either way it's close to or at 4 million.

F3 sales will suffer once MW2 comers out, the bundle of MW2 360 will hurt F3 sales even more.

MS kind stuck it between to massive games, Halo fans are still busy with ODST and now they will jump to MW2, Forza is kind the bastard child no one really wants right now.

Right, because the two genres are so similar they will cannabilize each others sales...

I think Black Friday will be the true test of FM3's legs.  The next two weeks or so will be real slow across the board, at least in America because lots of people will be waiting for the post-Thanksgiving sales before they do a lot of shopping.

Nope. Forza just doesn't have a big enough fanbase to compete. Bundles could make it come close, though.

 

A better question would be: Can GT5 outsell Forza 3's lifetime sales in the first week?

Maybe to you but its the most overrated FPS I ever played.  I stop playing Killzone 2 after I beat Vasari Square, because the story is not going anywhere. I have no opinion of how great Forza or GT is because I don't play racing sim.  Maybe I'll pick up Forza 3 when its on sale.
